how much are you looking to spend/type of fare? I'll be very, very honest, when DH and I find what we like, we don't venture far from that often cause we don't want a lemon!
I've hear that Graze is great from someone who worked at fancy restaurants, but I have not been there myself. Our downtown favorites are Tipsy Cow (lunch or dinner, pub type place with amazeballs cheese curds and burgers). Tornado Room is a great steakhouse that DH likes to go to for his birthday dinner. Del Monico's is another great steakhouse but their seating was pretty crowded the night we went there.
Great Dane is another good pub type place for lunch/dinner. Old Fashioned gets a lot of attention - haven't actually been there yet because they're always busy at dinner but I have tried their cheese curds and thought they were too greasy, so I haven't wanted to eat there, lol.
Paisan's is a cheap Italian place on overlooking one of the lakes - good food though. Ian's Pizza is a good quick lunch place - but if you come up here for school, you'll probably eat there often enough.
Bellini's is another nice Italian place in an old church. More of a romantic feel though while Paisan's is more family atmosphere.
Law school for you? As in another potential Clone fan up in this area?
Since I gave like 8 options, my favorites are Tipsy Cow and Tornado Room. Paisan's for Italian in your situation (with parents in tow).
