Put driving skills to the test on the drive up. Also avoided two speed traps once we got to Marion. They are going to need new spots in order to catch me!

Pants, seen there is a blizzard warning out on the top of the big island today according to the morning news. You have a chance to keep your Midwest driving skills sharp.
I saw that on the news! Though I think their idea of a blizzard is drastically different than ours.

OK, sorry to be the downer guy, injury was not as dramatic as first reported to me.
Stopped at the store for a few things, first reaction was "what are all you crazies doing in our normally deserted store at 11:45 PM, GTFO and go TF home so I can shop my normal shopping in peace without you morons that didn't get your shopping done yet"
Then, seriously, who the heck takes their toddler to the store at that hour? I mean, it seems like I always see it if I stop after work for something, but really...WTF...I think I saw at least 4 kids under the age of 4 in that store. Who does that? In front of me in line...man, woman, probably 4 year old kid who is about falling out of the cart he's so tired. Why didn't one of you stay home with the kid and send the other to the store? Or heck, if that wouldn't work cause you're travelling or something, at least leave one adult and the kid in the car?
I probably seem madder than I really am with this post, but reallydo....

Dude, are you up that early or up that late?
Up that early. Gotta go in for some work.
Well, don't rip off a fingernail, now.
Ahh, the good old Marion police...their cruisers should say "to Protect and to Fund the Budget" We have some like that in Iowa City...University Heights, a landlocked city that can't grow, so has to fund thru ticketing.
Yeah. One the car was so reflective it gave him away (Thomas Park and 7th Ave) the other one was on the parking lot of the strip mall down town...where there is always one late at night.
Back in college I was stopped on Christmas Day leaving my parents home in Manchester and heading to Dubuque to see my Irish Terror GF. They had extended the 35 mph zone further than when I had lived there and I was probably going 45 in what had been the 45 zone. Young cop was a real *** and tried baiting me into something worse by insulting me and giving me **** about my hair etc. I won't bite so he finally admitted he wasn't even supposed to be running radar that day per instructions from the city and didn't even do a ticket. Decades ago but still remember because it was Christmas and how he seemed to really want to arrest someone. Been insulted and baited by city cops before, always city cops, highway patrol guys have always been all business and professional.

It's funny, I was reading that thinking of it being a trip on the current 4 lane, then realized, no...when Boxster was in college, that would have been 2 lane all the way...and my parents' house wouldn't have existed yet....heck, I don't think they were likely married yet, either.
Actually at the time it was old two-lane Manchester to Delaware than 4-lanes from there to Dubuque. With Crazy White Women living in Dubuque I drove that route a LOT. Miracle I didn't fall asleep driving back than with all of the stupid late night post drinking post sneaking sessytime (using 00's favorite term) in her parents living room.
