Wait, you mean the other way around? Manchester to Delaware was 4 lane first. Delaware to Dubuque went to 4 lanes in 86 ish?

Independence to Delaware was late '70's. I worked on a repaving setup for DOT on Hwy 20 outside Farley while in college (early '70s) so that section was there long enough to get resurfaced. Lot's of fun (not) driving 2x2 "hubs" with a sledgehammer into gravel shoulder to set up a string line for the paving machine.

Aww...heck...yeah, hubs in gravel sucks. Wasn't sure when the indy/delaware went 4 lane, before my conscious of roads time. So, you pretty much were in the front yard of where my childhood house would be a few years later.

And since you mentioned Irish and from Dubuque, gonna go out on a limb and guess she was catholic...which reminds me of the Billy Joel line..."Catholic girls start much too late", and I always think...Not the ones I knew!

Yup, a whole family of ill-tempered somewhat crazy Irish-Catholic folks who initially looked on this German-Lutheran interloper with a degree of skepticism. GF was very smart and quite attractive but bat-**** crazy fused with a hair-trigger temper. "Pssst, don't ask about or stare at dads black-eye and swollen face, he and my brother got into a fist fight."

There were lots good times but no peaceful quiet good times. :twitcy:

Cute Christmice KC. The only thing I couldn't figure out is what makes the red nose?

One of the cherries, snipped into tiny pieces. This is how it's supposed to look. Ours aren't as fancy, but we improvised and had some fun with it!

I didn't see the thread, but I think she alluded to it..."most frustrating player"...again, didn't see it, but that's not really an innocuous thread...singling out players almost always gets deleted and not just closed. I'm with the mods on that one (not that I want to get into passing judgement on mod actions, but that's just a bad, bad idea from the get-go).

Well cooking is done, time to get cleaned up and get ready for relatives and all that stuff.
Pro tip when making bacon wrapped smokies use tin foil on your baking sheet makes clean up a breeze.

Didn't think of that. However, it was primarily about past players. S'pose you're right though.

Nothing says Christmas Eve afternoon like a taco and a burrito from Taco Bell washed down with a Summit pilsener after just hearing Warrants Cherry Pie on the radio.

WUT? :twitcy:
