Sunday night and Monday we will know a lot more about this system.

That being said we have already started discussing alternate travel options other than driving through the night on Tuesday.

We've already decided to drive down to Des Moines starting late morning Wednesday. Is that looking like a bad idea?

We are hoping to travel on Monday, so need to know before Sun night (because that is our other option). But if it isn't looking like impacts until Tue then we may be okay. About 4 years ago or so we were at the IL's for Christmas and we got 18" of snow that shut down all interstates and the airport. Lots of family time that Christmas. :)

Is most of this system staying north? We're looking at two round trips between Ottumwa and Des Moines between the 23rd and 24th. (Stupid work schedules)

I was talking to the barber as the kiddos were getting haircuts this morning, her son is not sure what he wants to do (he's in first year after HS), and her description of his interests/disinterests seemed like a good fit for my program at ISU (and he had thought about going to ISU, his sister goes there). So I was going to get her some information on the program. Clicked on one document, seriously....it's in f-ing comic sans...while I don't get the overall hate for it in every situation...for a college recruiting type flyer, it looks like it was done by a middle schooler.

squeaky WI cheese curds with a sample pack of New Glarus beer would be a popular exchange gift, don't you think?

whoops, no on curds. Lose their squeak too fast. Have to do a mixture of a couple different kinds instead.

No, no one would want that. To avoid the embarrassment of giving such a crappy exchange gift, you should just send it to me and I won't tell anyone what you did.

DH just can't win, can he? :jimlad:

My gift, on the other hand, will be a well-known WI wine with a couple kinds of fudge. What kind of fudge is popular? They have everything. I'm thinking maybe just the classic regular and salted caramel.

Randomness--chocolate animal crackers dipped in leftover peppermint buttercream taste similar to Girl Scout thin mints. That is lunch today.
