welp, I just aged 50 years. Got DH home in one piece, he goes in to rinse the blood out (no, not actually rinse, just let some water dribble out) I go to get out his jello and hear a loud clatter. Go back around and he's on the floor and it looks disturbingly like he's having a seizure. I get him to come to, he's confused as ****, and then goes back out again. Comes to again while I call the doctor. It was just a faint (please no 'omg what a wimp' jokes, I can't handle that right now)- probably because he's already been eating nothing this week, was sedated and hadn't been standing. But holy ****, that was easily the most terrifying two minutes of my life. Apparently he could hear me, just not respond at all. Said I have to work on my "panicked" voice and not say his name so much. I thought I sounded in control, lol. Was just trying to get him to respond to me.

My office has been a constant parade of food since Thanksgiving. If I escape the holidays gaining less than 10 lbs, I'm calling it a success. Otherwise, I guess I'll hit up CG for her chicken recipe.

My work party was today but babysitting DH is taking care of that!

I have been lucky so far, but today bagels were brought in. I've had two...... and there are still a lot left  Must stay away.....

In the past two weeks:

2 spiral hams
cookies
boxes of Russell Stovers candy
3 popcorn tins
bagels
donuts - 3 times
cases of Hershey kisses
cases of soup - this I'm ok with

I'm just thankful that my family get-together was at Thanksgiving. I'm almost back down to my mid November self after that gorge-fest.

Not good. Did you check to make sure he didn't crack his head on anything?

CG, I'm not sure if DH has a history of fainting or not, but keep an eye on him and make sure he's aware. Hoping that a fainting spell is all, but please don't overlook the possibility of a stroke.

:( I hope he rests and is much better later today, but I'd be tempted to make him go to the Dr.

he has fainted before when getting blood drawn. He said he was letting the water-blood run out of his mouth and then it came on pretty fast. Said he noticed how pale he looked and then it felt like he was in a dream. Combined with the whole not eating much all week and being hungry today...just a bad combo.

I did talk to his and they were going to check in this afternoon. I've fainted myself, but I've never seen someone in a faint.....I guess I wasn't expecting that they would do anything other than lie completely still on the floor. It didn't quite seem like a full-on seizure, but it was like he was having a dream. Scared the hell out of me.

Ok. I hate suggesting something worse, but I err on the side of caution with stuff like that.

I've only ever fainted once. My friend said it was possibly the most grace-less thing he's seen in his entire life. Just one of many time that I feel very fortunate to have gone through college before youtube was invented.

I fainted at a blood drive at the union, and a blood drive at work. I don't faint at the sight of blood, but I have low blood pressure normally, so I'm guessing the loss of a pint puts me over the edge. Sucks, cause I'd love to give blood, but after fainting 2 of 3 times, decided I probably shouldn't.

Get him on the couch & tell him he doesn't get up without an escort (you). If he has to sit to pee, so be it. Combo of anesthesia & dehydration...not a good one.

Keep pushing jello & broth & fluids...

oh, when it was going on, my gut is like "he just fainted, don't panic, just make sure his tongue is out of the way" while my heart is like HE'S DYING RIGHT HERE AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO EVEN THOUGH I TOOK THAT FIRST AID CLASS" He didn't have any numbness (besides his mouth), slurred words or anything like that. He was just confused when he came to cause he didn't know what had happened and my face probably wasn't projecting "calm". He's been talking and eating some now. Believe me, I'm like level 1000 mother hen right now.

I've legit passed out twice and half-fainted once at the gym. That one was embarrassing.

Oh good grief, CG. I'm scared just reading that. Yeah, stay home and dote on him.

Got him to the couch and he's staying put! Got some food into him which should help a lot. I'm glad it happened inside though.......He walked up the stairs from the basement just fine. That would have been a hell of a mess had it happened there.

It was a good test to see how massively CG would fail in a life or death situation, without anyone getting seriously hurt.
