Random thoughts III

In not one to ask for a lot, but I would appreciate some good thoughts coming my way. I've been hospitalized since
friday night with sepsis due to some uncooperative kidney stones. I found out today that I also have pneumonia in my left lung. Not feeling really sharp. Crossed fingers, Prayers, good vibes...all wood be welcome.

Oh no. Praying for you. Get better.

dabnabbit, they named the baby princess Charlotte. I mean, I'm glad to have the same taste in names as royalty, but dangit. Now that name will skyrocket. And it was already used by Chelsea Clinton so it had already been getting close to too popular.

I haven't seen anything yet. Doesn't she have more than the one name?

That is exactly how we felt when Rachel on Friends used our baby name. ;) We used it anyway because it was a family name on both sides. It was only in the top 5 girls' names for the last 10+ years. In kindergarten she was one of 5 in her class of 100. With kids moving in/out I think we are up to 6 now. That's okay, it fits her well and she knows who she is named after.

My next door neighbor named their girl Charlotte 6 months ago, at least she got in before the princess was born.

My 'feeling old' moment over the weekend was when we went to my parents on Friday, and mom sent my old teddy bear home with us. I got to thinking on the way home, he's between 30 and 35 years old.

And, for those wondering, his name is Harry...yes, Harry Bear.

I applaud your name choice. It screams "playa" at an early age. What girl could resist the invite upstairs to see your Harry Bear?

Emma is DH's fave girl name and I am like no even though I think it's a pretty name. Just sooooo many Emma's around now. I'll probably like something other than Charlotte by the time we get to that point anyway, so it probably doesn't matter in the end!

Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but the name talk got me thinking. The director of our daycare that we have taken our daughter since birth recently asked us if we'd mind it if she named her daughter the same as ours.

It's a polite thing to ask I guess, but what would she have done if I said "No, find your own damn name"? Something about making the emotional pregnant lady that watches my kid for 2-3 hours a day mad at me didn't seem like a good idea.

That is odd, but being pregnant and trying to look at names is just hard anyway. I think that's why it is probably wise not to tell people your list. They may affect your choice. Though, it is polite I guess, though it seems like there would be a good age difference.

There are a bunch of Charlotte's around already. My daughter knows 3. Same with Aubrey, Kaitlin, Ella, Kayden, Hayden, Peyton, Mia, etc. You know what's unique? Condoleezza. You're welcome

There will be 8 years in the age difference, so that is kinda nice. It is kinda cool having a fairly unique name though. I like being able to shout her name at a crowd of kids and have her head be the only one that turns around!

yeah, it's been creeping up pretty steadily. I can safely say none of the others on that list will be used. Now I'm liking Kate lately as well. I seem to be going back to classic girl names. I like unique ones like my own, but the ones I see are more into the Nevaeh and Swaylynn route than mine. And that's not happening.

We're still trying to pick a name for my next son. 3 months to go and still not decided. Maybe something from CF? :jimlad:
