Hah, hah, haaa....perhaps me mind is a bit twisted, Mrs. 00clone had her yoga pants on today.
:biggrin::yes:
I like our island, but it gets cluttered. I wish we had a side desk thing to capture all the flotsam and jetsam of everyday life. We have a credenza from Costco, but you have to open it, which apparently is too much work for some members of our household. I also like our entryway with a little bench and coat hooks on the wall to hang coats right when you come in and take them off, I don't like that Mrs. 00clone would rather throw her purse onna counter and her coat over the back of a kitchen chair. We have dark cabinets, I like 'em fine, but I'm pretty easygoing as long as it's not ugly. We have a double sink, which when I was a kid meant wash in one, rinse in the other, dish drainer on the counter that got put away after all the dishes were dry. When Mrs. 00clone was growing up, that meant wash in one, spray off rinse, put in dish drainer in the other sink that sat there all the time because dishes were air dried, so we constantly have this gawdy cheap plastic dish drainer in our second sink and that sink always has this haze on it because it never gets a good cleaning like the other one. I mean, we have a dishwasher, but there's still things that get hand washed.
OK, that is sounding like a "complain about Mrs. 00clone" rather than an analysis of the kitchen, but as the cook, I feel like there's so many simple things that could be done better that would make it less messy all the time...and we don't have that big of a kitchen (I mean, it's not tiny, but foodie me would love a bigger one) so everything is important. When I get home (admittedly this is the middle of the night and no kiddos), coat comes off and on the hook. Lunch box gets unpacked and put under the bench, out of the way, pocket stuff goes in one specific drawer in the credenza, phone and bluetooth speaker (old beater work car, use a bluetooth speaker for podcasts to and from work) plugged in inside the credenza as well. Nothing on the island.
