I'm awake and feel pretty good considering they took about half my tongue. The bandage wrapped around it is driving me crazy

They want to be soooo official with the fine print disclaimer "make sure you read the label" but they don't even know what the dang product is.
When they did the ankle replacement I was under for six hours. The anesthesiologist had clamped the right edge of my tongue into the the intubation mechanism so that when I woke up, my tongue was swollen and had a white "dead" edge (like a giant canker sore) and stayed that way for several weeks. It was amazingly annoying...I can't imagine how much worse it must be for you.
I hope the prognosis is good. Thanks for the update!
Drove by the bank I used to work at. A very attractive lady in a black dress was delivering their mail. First, when did mail people start wearing dresses and second, if she delivered my mail, I’d be at the mail box every day.
I'm already talking. Lots of mumbles but they understand me. I'm out of bed and supposed to stay out of it unless I'm trying to sleep. I've also already walked around. I'm doing good enough that I can walk without an escort

Dana College hat. I considered playing football there back during HS. Had a friend who did. College ended up closing, so I'm even happier I chose ISU.
Feel great, no pain, just some discomfort when swallowing and that is be expected. Can't wait to get rid of this feeding tube. Hopefully tomorrow.

Rough week around here. Lew's sister was diagnosed last winter with a rare skin cancer. By the time it was diagnosed it had metastasized and there was little they could do. After the last round of treatments she crashed pretty quickly, and passed last Tuesday. Her son is here from Texas, and Lew is her executor, so he has been down in Woodward most of the day, every day, sorting through papers with William. He comes home after dark and basically falls into bed. Service is Sunday. In the past three years, he has lost his mother. his dad (stepfather), his three older brothers and now this sister. He's now the oldest brother, and one sister away from being the oldest remaining of ten. Life has been coming at us hard in recent years. It's part of why we travel so much...we don't want to sit here & wait to die.
