Yea but wait until the new windows are in and paid for
Apparently the husband inherited some farm ground. When they get the rent they spend it immediately and get projects half done, which I can handle if they would then finish the project with the next rent check; but it never happens. He is a retired janitor or maintenance from a University that I'm embarrassed to say (they more fit the Iowa crowd). She is huge on social media and badmouths anything with the house before they showed up. I still have about a year before I will tell them what I truly think of them so the statute of limitations runs out on what the wife threatened to sue me on.

The POS neighbors who kills their, and a little of ours, lawn and dropped large rocks right on the property line are now putting in new windows. The house rarely has $100 heat/electric bills when mom lived there a few years ago. They fell for the line that they will keep the furniture and flooring from fading. We have never had that problem, maybe have shades/curtains for once.

They have no front steps, their entire lawn is literally weeds (well except for the rocks and under the rocks looks like a storm door), they have vehicles all over; it’s literally white trash haven. Should tell them that I’m suing them for property devaluation.
That whole situation is sad, and I'm sure frustrating for you. A lot of hindsight and "I should have" is what I'd be thinking.

Kiddo and I went to practice research at the library, just like a state information project thing.
We're reading through a book about Iowa. On one entertainment page, it had a pic of ISU basketball.

Of all the games we've ever had, this book picked the game against Duke in the United Center. Immediately, I saw Brackins and Dendy just jumping up and down to every Duke pump fake. Of all the games...............
You don't always get what you want in research, I guess.

Yeah, I should have rented it out like I thought at one time. Problem is, when there are others involved with the estate (the house was JTwROS between me and my mom, but that was for legal reasons and I made it fair with the others) it gets messy. The JTwROS actually is what caused a few issues for me. Got hit with some taxes and then made the sale a little stickier since I was considered an owner and not the estate.

It was part of a thing that ESPN used to do "opening day", where basketball games were played back to back to back across the country. When one game was ending, another was starting. After that game we went to a bar and were half watching another game...on an aircraft carrier in San Diego or San Francisco, iirc. @BoxsterCy , do you remember who was playing? I want to say Pitt...

We played Colorado. Don't remember that "carrier" game.

What did I miss hearing about?
It was through the We Will collective (NIL fund) - received an email a month or two previously coaches Campbell, Otz, and Fennelly sharing their perspectives/ experiences on being a leader and instilling a culture in an organization.

The "nugget" which really hit home for me sitting in the audience (and feeling towards the younger end) was hearing Coach Campbell talk about becoming head football coach at Toledo at 32 y.o. - I mean I knew his "story", but hearing him share his experience and me being about to turn 32 myself it "hit different". I'd highly recommend others check it out in the future, and I'll try to share it here if I hear about another opportunity.

We went to a fund raiser for Charlie's Angels (supports cystic fibrosis). Campbell is an active supporter of the group, and gave a talk there. We got to hear his whole story of how and where he started, and how and why he got here. Loved it.

Have a visitation and celebration of life this afternoon for a friend's dad. Partner that with what I'm reading in the latest Supreme Court decision, and I'm truly sad.

Dealing with an insurance claim for the church. Well, they said 48 hours and someone will contact me, that was last Wednesday. So I’m contacting people. A letter I got said the claim was sent to an adjusting company. I called and this guy answered the phone will just Hello. Seemed odd for a business but I say why I’m calling. He then tells me that he also has a claim with the company and somehow his number got listed as a contact and has been getting people wondering what is happening with their claim. He then apologized to me, I’m thinking, no bud, I feel sorry for you. He then tells me he’s at this tobacco conference and i just say goodbye and hang up. Not sure what is going on.
