We’re gone to a few of their shows and have most of their music. One year they did a kind of Halloween themed show here in Ames and I think had some NASA- type music and visuals.
We also really like Tran-Siberian Orchestra music and shows. None were close enough to attend this year.

If you are on FB here is her tour page where she shows updates each day.https://m.facebook.com/Becky-Kia-110386265744152/

That was just the furnace? I threw out a 5k number and the guy said no way for that. Unless he means the 5k minus 2k rebate.

The guy is going solo in a couple weeks so I may just hold out as long as I can because the company he works for is expensive and I don’t care for.
Furnace & AC. $7.3k before the $2k rebate. It's also just a 2 ton AC unit. House isn't very large

I screwed up yesterday when I was making pizza dough and made way too much so pizza again tonight.

Try making some pizzas with less than traditional ingredients. I love a good chicken/black olive/fresh spinach pizza with marinara and mozzarella.

Not exactly sure.
Got a Christmas card from my old part time boss. Daughter goes, maybe your last paycheck is in there (for stuff from last October through this January )? I laughed and opened it, just a card.

Lesson here, don’t work for broke people.

I've done that in the past. I just prefer more traditional toppings. Tonight I'll do shrimp & bacon which is about as far as I will stray from traditional.

Welp, finally got my surgery time. Looks like I won't even need anesthesia. They want me at the hospital at 5.30. AM. I won't be awake until at least 3-4 hours after that...
Can you just go in the night before ;)

Believe me, I THOUGHT of that. And I have to stay the night after, so blerg...

Worse yet, my instructions say to shower just before I go to bed the night before, and again in the morning before I go to the hospital. THAT'S THE SAME DAMN TIME!!!

In college we could make our own small pizzas at the dining hall (probably the size as the personal pan pizzas that you could get at Iowa State football games) and we'd put croutons on them. It actually worked out pretty well because it would give them a crunch

Total ankle replacement. I've had a bum right ankle since I blew it up when I was 18. Surgical repair when I was 19. Now the arthritis has made a hash of what's left of it.
Will it impinge on range of motion much? My wrist is looking like it will need surgery on it in the next 10 years due to the same issues with arthritis and floating spurs but my hand surgeon said I won't be able to bend my wrist really at all and that freaks me out. I know the wrist and the ankle are pretty much the same set of bones.

The original damage I did was destroying all of the ligaments on the outside of my ankle. I have a piece of my achilles tendon there to replace them. The doc can't just clean up the spurs & osteophytes (the common, simple fix method) because the arthritis is severe enough that they are pretty much what is holding the ankle in position, even as they restrict its movement. The tendon replacement trick has lasted for 45 years but is weakening.

My second option was an ankle fusion. That basically freezes your ankle in a flexed position for the rest of your life. No thank you.

The replacement joint they are using on me is a fairly new design (10 years or so, I think he said). It is designed in two parts that are held together, with a silicon "donut" between them acting like the cartilage cushion. I should have nearly normal range of motion, side to side & flex/extend after it heals. I still may have some issues with sudden side stops (like when you jump to the side while playing table tennis, for example), but that is as much a function of the original injury as it is of the new joint.

If you don't like what your orthopedist has suggested, I strongly recommend you get a second opinion, even if it means going to another city. I have found that it's not uncommon for doctors in the same practice to stick to similar procedures for their patients.

FWIW...Fredericks here in Ames is pretty good, & well-respected.
