Speaking of roundabouts. Linn county has spent the last couple of years doing improvements on County Home Rd which is a heavily traveled road across the north side of CR/Robins/Marion. They just reopened it today and directly from them "This newly improved cross-county road features multiple improvements focused on safety and traffic flow including the well-liked roundabout times two!"

<Insert it’s been 84 years gif>

Bout time they opened that up, now we don’t have to go down to Boyson to see family.

Or their memory.

Twice in my hometown the past few months I've ordered Taco pizza and received basically a sausage pizza. They literally forgot the chips, lettuce, and tomatoes.

Never again.
The quality of service and product have dropped considerably in the past couple of years. We almost never order from them any more.

Our newest vehicle's engine turns off when we stop and idle. It's a little odd but doesn't really effect my driving except we complain about the air conditioner not working for a few seconds.
Our Taco car does that. It's not a hybrid...it's just designed that way (to conserve fuel, I suppose). It doesn't shut off, but the AC definitely goes bye bye...which made waiting in the line to get into the parking lot last Saturday a whoooooole lot of fun.

I thought you and Lew just powered that vehicle through holes in the floor Flintstones style.

I know this is a joke but an incredible amount of fuel is wasted every day on idling vehicles at stop lights and people inching forward waiting to take their turn at four-way (and all-way) stop signs. In fact right turn on red was mandated by the federal government during the oil crisis as an energy saving measure. Before that it was up to each state/jurisdiction to allow right turn on red and most didn't.

On that new 1st St exit in Ankeny, I learned today that you can merge right like a conventional right on red even though the red arrow certainly makes you think you should stay stopped. The way I learned this was I was stopped and a city of Ankeny pick up was behind me, so at the next stop light (we were both waiting for the left turn signal) he rolled his window down and motioned for me to roll mine down, explained to me if it's clear treat it just like a regular R on red. I told him they should put up a sign to make that clearer. He said lots of people wait for the green.

That was kind of a expensive mistake. Must have been fairly inexperienced to not realize that that trailers cut in. Also hard to believe they thought that it would fit through a drive thru. Bet they won't forget that lesson.

The part where they rev it up when it first catches was icing on the cake.
