I know there was a family in Dubuque (they owned a sporting goods store) that had a few of their boys play college basketball -- last name of Kunnert. I believe Kevin Kunnert got some NBA time.
edit: Just looked up John Kunnert -- played center for ISU from 78-82.
Most likely him. I probably didn’t hear the T at the end.

If any one collects antique radios, check out Steffes Group auctions Donna Miller auction in West Burlington. I did not know there was a west Burlington.

I am surprised and also not surprised that you didn't know there was a West Burlington. Granted, a) I lived in SE IA for 7 years, and b) The schools in the area were always playing West Burlington Notre Dame.

Watching the movie San Andreas. It’s pretty awful so far.
I watched it a few years ago. I was entertained enough that I finished watching it. It's not exactly a cinematic masterpiece but I didn't feel like I completely wasted my time.

Having The Rock in it help. If The Rock movies were athletes, I'd say that having him in a movie raises the floor but also limits the ceiling. You're never going to see "The Godfather, starring Duane Johnson" but he's likeable enough that he's also never going to be in Gigli or Glitter.

If the Rock is the main character you're going to get a pretty standard action movie. It's going to be a little over the top, not much of a serious plot, some inevitable/unrealistic feat of strength scene and will be entertaining as long as you don't think to hard about. So a perfectly acceptable summer popcorn action flick. Or perfect background noise for a TV movie while cleaning.

Whoa, now. You don't put the Rock in the background.

That was my problem, I put too much thought into it. Opening scene, some girl falls a few hundred feet down a cliff in her car, and not only lives, but just a few minor scratches.

Heard garbage truck backup beeping in the alley this morning and thought "WTF is garbage dude doing here on Sunday?"

Ooops, never mind, lost a day somewhere.

Yeah. Can't overthink that stuff. Just let it happen.

It's kind of like Pacific Rim (the first one, not that horrible second one). If you expected to get some deep, thinking sci-fi movie you were disappointed. If you went to it because you wanted to see some giant ******* robots punch giant ******* monsters in the face while eating popcorn and exciting your inner 9 year old, then you had a great time.

I started getting sports illustrated several months ago without ordering it and I still don't know why. Now I have started receiving gq as well. I am so confused. At least with si I had been a subscriber a long time ago and I will read some of that. Gq seems like a worthless magazine to me, not a single pair of cargo shorts in any of their fashion pictures. It also smells girlier than cosmo.

Isn't SI about 60% advertisements now?

Graduation day went great. Kicked around a few different options for something to do this week after cancelling our trip to STL. Ended up out at the Sunflower Experience near Belle Plain this afternoon. Kind of a cool different thing, especially when you get up on the viewing platform and just see a sea of yellow sunflowers.

Thinking of (high probability) of making a run to visit sister in Iowa at end of week. Her youngest and her kids are moving in next door to her this week. School starts next Monday so now will be less Delta likely there than later. Sort of nervous about stuff, compounded by reading that the drug I am on was found to suppress the vaccines antibody production. Might be returning to the hermit life again this fall which makes me a bit :(.

I guess Nancy was right about drugs...

Seriously, that sucks that a medication you are taking could be suppressing COVID antibodies.

I just want this whole thing to die down/away. I'm doing my part.

Our Dalmatian finally fulfilled her life long dream of catching a squirrel this weekend.

Also had mom and dads surprise 50th party this weekend. Went well, they both really liked it.

So did the squirrel nick her up or did she get a clean kill on it?
