I've seen it done successfully with big height differentials but I think they were "seasoned" veterans LOL. The tall ones kind of squished down, but it wasn't their 1st time as a group.
Oh, they tried to "squish down" and I was on my tippy-toes. It wasn't enough. :D
Ah well, there's worse things than smelling like fruity schnapps...for instance, smelling like stale lager...

Randoms:

Biked. Hot. DND but was sweating rose wine from last nights deck gathering with neighbors. Some skimpy thong wear around the lake so it wasn't all bad.

Haven't heard the rumble of an Italian V-12 in some time. Thought maybe the neighbor had gotten rid of his Lamborghini Diablo. But, no, rumble rumble, rumble.

There's a baby bunny rat that appears to be living in my hostas. So far likes the yard weeds better than the hostas but he should probably move to a new locale.

The million chipmunks hanging out in my front yard need to stay the **** out of my house. I do not relish another great chipmunk purge.

Well it was an interesting wkend went to a auction on Sat just ended up with some odds and ends, went to a local towns summer festival, took a 8.5 mile bike ride thru the state park on the multi use trails. Ended up the day dropping off some supplies to a customer when his order didn't get shipped on time, luckily I had enough to cover for him.

Sun had to separate bike rides one 13.5 and another 10 in the evening in MC that one had a food truck and free beer :). Also went down and had lunch with my folks, sister and her husband and my nephew. So two busy but pretty much fun days.

I'm trying to get mentally prepared for car shopping. The exhaust is crapping out on my car. Mo is 10 years old, has 140K miles, and is beginning to rust in spots - pretty much a fact of life on Iowa gravel roads, with rock dings exacerbated by road salt on the streets/highways. So the question becomes, do we invest in fixing the exhaust or just trade her in. I like the car, but now that I'm not driving daily in my commute I wouldn't mind something a little bit bigger & more comfy for non-RV road trips. Maybe with heated seats? Not because I'm cold, but because the warmth felt really good on my bad back on long drives when we had heated seats...in the car Lew wrapped around a telephone pole after hitting a patch of black ice. :(

So, looking for something a little newer and a little bigger than a 2011 Malibu. DO NOT WANT an SUV size chunk. Any suggestions?

PS - don't even mention Fords. Lew will never buy one.

My parents and daughter have Subaru Outbacks, and love them. My dad asked his neighbor across the street (who was a car mechanic) what he did NOT like about his Outback, and the neighbor said there was nothing he didn't like. Dad went out and bought what he guesses is their last vehicle.
My daughter is 5'-2" BTW.

@ImJustKCClone - A couple of our neighbors own Suburu Crosstreks (it's probably not a bigger vehicle). They seem to like them. We recently purchased a Cherokee. We love it so far but it is new and we've had it for less than 3 months. If you liked your Malibu and you still want a car, an Impala makes a lot of sense. A couple of people are pretty happy with Hyundai Santa Fe's. The warranty is very good so you may be able to get a used one with some warranty left on it.

Continuing on with the Subaru trend, my dad bought a Subaru forester a couple of years ago and, from what I can tell, loves the thing. For him, it's right at that easy to get into and out of height (he's 70 next year, had one hip replaced, and needs to get the other). Throw in good safety features, AWD, and he's happy with it. I've only ever driven it once but it seemed a decent car. It may be a little bit more SUV, but it's not something you need running boards to get into.

My takeaway from that...
CRAP! Your DAD is only three years older than me???

Update: A couple young friends borrowed our truck to pick up some furniture from Waterloo. We have lunch with a group of friends in Ames every week...just happens to be the parents of one of the couple, so they left us their Honda Fit to drive to lunch.
I drove. I was really surprised at the visibility. However...
1) no cruise control
2) no heated seats
3) could NOT see where the front bumper was, and had to have Lew help me pull in behind someone else, and get close enough to them that the back end wasn't impeding alley traffic.

Going to start looking around...but I'm not as averse to cross-over SUVs as I was...and Japanese-built cars have come a looooooong ways from what I remember them to be like. Still very utilitarian interior on this one though. At least when I shut the door it went "thunk" not "clink". Did NOT like those early tin cans on wheels.

Grrrr. Resident bunny rat has developed a taste for hosta and totaled three of them. War! Sprayed the hostas in front yard with stinky Liquid Fence in an attempt at chemical deterrent. Smells like liquid manure but it's actually putrid egg based. Don't want to necessary kill the little **** but I will as the next step.

I swear by Liquid Fence.
