Race Thompson

Update from Race with quotes on his top 4.

“Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Baylor, and Marquette,” he said. “Those are the main ones off the top of my head that have stood out.”

Thompson broke down those involved.

Minnesota: “Their style would definitely fit me, but we are going to see how it goes.
“I like them a lot, it is the hometown team, of course. It is just like any other school though, I just want to make the best decision.”

Iowa State: “It is a good school. It definitely fits my style of play with getting the ball and being able to push it. That definitely stands out about that school.”

Baylor: “It is nice; they definitely have good coaches that develop its players. They have a couple of guys going to the draft this year. They always have a big team, so that would definitely benefit me, being able to play a smaller position at the 3 or the 4 and make my chances greater of playing pro basketball.”

Indiana: “They definitely have told me that they want me a lot. They have made me a priority. They have one of the best cultures in college basketball, some of the best fans; it is definitely a good school.”

“I am visiting Indiana and Michigan sometime at the end of June,” he said before noting on the timetable for a more cut list. “I will probably narrow it down a little after the AAU season.”

Doesn't seem like the typical Baylor player. I wonder after going against Niang for four years made Drew want this type of player

We probably can't draw any hard conclusions from those excerpts, since he's summarizing each one. Taking them as equally weighted assessments, Minnesota got the most lukewarm endorsement. "We're going to see how it goes."

Among those four, his order sounds like IU, ISU, BU, UM. (Baylor is the only one that includes a pro-basketball reference, so Baylor might even have an edge.

Yeah, I thought the Baylor endorsement was way too endearing for my liking. But that's probably just my own paranoia because obviously I never want another big12 team to get a guy we're prioritizing.
