Not too shabby I must admit. Just looked a little nervous or maybe excited is the better word. Threw one in the dirt and the end zone int was just bad, but honestly no worse than any other rookie's first series.
Honestly back up QB in the nfl would be the ideal job. Make good money. Don’t take the beatings that a starter does.
Back-up QB in the NFL might be the best job in sports really. You're paid well but don't take a beating like a starter does. Nobody is calling into talk radio to complain about how much you suck either. Sign me up for that.
I think we all knew at this point last year he would be slinging it for the Niners in week 7.
I'm sure he was amped up so a few throws were high but this will help the next time he gets to play - he'll come in with a little more control over his emotions.
Not sure why we don't see backup QB's more often in the NFL. Seems like typically the startes play the whole game irriegardless.
True, but then again 20+ point blowouts are not too common in the NFL. I suspect there's a very high correlation of blowouts on either side plus late-4th quarter timeframe netting the backup QBs out there on both teams. If you're only down 2 scores with 5 minutes left, most teams think they can still come back and win it...and some do.
Back up QB or starting pitcher. Your points for backup QB but starting pitchers play once a week while traveling all over the US and can golf at any course they want. Chase Daniel and John Smultz have lived my 2 dream careers.
Or just transition into a nice life like Seneca and Sage.
and if you can reach Henne/Daniels/Rosenfels/Wallace level elder-statesman you almost get the nod over some guys because of your presence.

What is the niners deal? They have a bazillion weapons on offense now, and up until the past 2 weeks, had the best defense statistically speaking. Does Brock really have a shot to play moving forward? QB is arguably the position holding them back. That is a ton of pressure on his shoulders though.
Has a Super Bowl ring and has thrown for less than 1800 yards in 10+ years.
