I have not read through all the posts but this one resonates best with me. There are times you need to control the narrative and not for sinister reasons. If you are a leader negotiating an acquisition, launching a new product, discontinuing a product, hiring a coach, etc., you absolutely need to control the narrative. Rumors can submarine good intentions before given a chance, Too often we see candidates pull out, individuals resign, half baked decisions due to the pressure of social media. It's great everyone has an opinion but, quite frankly, our opinions are not important to the final outcome. IMHO, Pollard should communicate often on process, without tipping his hand, until the decision is final.
