Please not TJ. 12-15 this season. 17-15 last season. Went to the NIT his last season at South Dakota State with maybe the most talented team in South Dakota State history. 0-2 in NCAA tourney. 0-1 in NIT. Dunno how any of that qualifies him to coach in the best conference in college basketball.
Agree. Would be a total no excitement hire.
How a can I be sure your grandma or aunt or cousin doesn’t have a relationship to TJ? I’m not a trusting sort.
Thread has already turned into a eulogy about someone who was nice.... but.
Those instances that you are referring to were rare and got called out by the vast majority on here at the time...After months of spitting vitriol, going for classy facade.
We needed to part ways. We didn’t need months of personal attacks, dragging of Pollard, comments about family, etc.
Steve had some pretty fair signees as well (seemed to recruit his @$$ off), but didn’t seem to construct or develop a team. There’s a lot of high level recruits in the Big XII. Yeah, you gotta have the dudes, but you also have to be able to develop, coach and lead them. TJ’s record as a HC does not inspire confidence in those other important aspects of the job. There’s a ton of coaching talent in the Big XII. I’m not convinced TJ can go toe to toe with what would be his peers in this conference. You don’t need to be my grandma to know that TJ recruits his ass off.
Of course, the local is the least subtle.Interesting ways to frame it from from local and National people. View attachment 82821

What great weekend that our family will never forget. Since then it was a downward.... Time to move on!I was very disappointed with the direction the program has gone, but I will also remember Steve being our coach through 2 of my favorite Iowa State games I ever attended; at Kansas and West Virginia in KC both in 2017.
Things didn’t work out at all in Ames, but I wish him well at his next stop.
Won't be a whole lot better with TJ. Marginally maybe.Good luck to Steve.
But we just got better today
