The Kansas football team will have to wait all day on Sept. 12 for the Jayhawks’ nonconference matchup with Coastal Carolina, set to begin at 9 p.m., the Big 12 and KU announced Tuesday.

The abnormally late start time allows the Jayhawks’ 2020 debut under head coach Les Miles to air nationally on FOX Sports 1.

That's a terrible kick time. I suppose TV still rules but that's really unacceptable for a kick time. There should be plenty of good time spots available. As if there are any viewers this year on the West coast that are going to care.

but they are on FS1 and not FS2, Foxsports Midwest or the Ocho. I assume FS1 games pay better

At least KU is a team not allowing any fans, so it at least makes more sense they chose that game. Granted, it wouldn't have taken a mandate for there to be no fans at the KU game. I really hope ISU doesnt get that time slot at any point this year, but I'm not too confident.

Well at least they are playing a west coast team.

Imagine being a Coastal Carolina fan and having your game start at 10 pm local time.

YES! FS1 looking out for me and the massive pacific coast audience so hungry for our Coastal Cackalacky football fix, need it in prime time so bad. They came through.

So they are upgrading their programming from P12 games?

Kansas started this no fans at football games a long time ago. Like they knew what was coming and were practicing for this very occasion.

My Saturday nights in the fall typically end watching p12 or MW so I'll probably be watching. I would never want ISU to be involved but I'd take a game in that time slot to watch every week.
