I know it seems that having a podcast is the “thing.” But…when you can’t or don’t want to listen to a podcast or audio story and just want to enjoy the content, having audio only posts for most of the main lead stories is a pain. It’s easy to post text copies of a podcast. It’s just to the point where one doesn’t get to view a majority of the content on CF because it’s gone in that direction. Help!

I’ve been asking for this for years.

I can’t spend 45min listening to a podcast, but I can spend 5min reading a transcript.

It doesn’t have to be perfect and honestly it would an acceptable use of AI to pull the transcript.

Definitely want written words for instructions, but those are becoming rarer and rarer. I'm good at languages, but I always find the thick accents a mite annoying. So, if it's a video, I generally turn off the sound and put on the subtitles when I need to know how to do something.

I do dislike written cooking pages, though, that tell a person's life story before they get to the recipe, so prefer the ones that "jump" right to the good stuff. Sorry, Fluffie May. I'm there for the Capesante alla veneziana, not to validate your life story. (yeah, I know, that seems harsh, sorry not sorry)

Bad translations of written instructions also annoy me when I'm in a hurry. Otherwise, they usually make me laugh.

The recipe thing drives me batty as well. This is a lifesaver:

They have an app, too.

You can also hit the print button at the top of the article and it usually pops out as the recipe only.

Also I 100% agree on the written vs audio content. I understand it is probably easier to produce the audio but much prefer the written. Even if there was a link for the AI generated transcript it would be great.

Apple Podcasts automatically transcribe them.

Are these even available in Apple Podcasts? Kind of a pain to go from this site to another, but lordy...90% of the content here is now audio which for me is useless.

It is out there...perhaps having a link from CF would be helpful. Transcripts are pretty good overall.

You can see at the bottom there is a transcript.

Spotify has transcripts as well. Not sure it's really what you're looking for, but better than nothing.
