125- Kysen (24/18)
133- Ramazan (19/20)
141- Redding (26/NR)
149- Paniro (24/NR)
157- Isaac Judge (NR/24)
165- Carr (3/4)
174- Devine (24/17)
184- Coleman (5/5)
197- Bastida (6/7)
Hwt- Schuyler (16/13)
Team Tournament- (12/13)
Dual- (13/10)

Pretty fair preseason rankings from the 2 main publications. I expect to see major improvements at 141 with Swiderski there in place of Redding, 125 and 149 have the potential to end up higher than where they are but we need to see them prove it on the mat. I think Judge could surprise some people at 157 this year as I think he was a pretty small 165 and might be at his more natural weight.

Definitely with you on Judge, I think he will be in the top 20 around that 15-range. What’s the latest on Redding going down to 133? That weight could have 3 decent guys battling it out and I’m interested in seeing how that goes.

I think how things go at 25 and 49 will go a long ways towards if we have a good season or a great one.

If the Russian is healthy, then I feel pretty good about 33. He was coming on strong at the end of last year before he got hurt. He could kind of have one of these years that Coleman had not long ago. One of those "who the hell is this guy?!?!" kind of years. At least, that's my hope and I see the potential for it.

I don’t follow that closely. We aspire to have isu top 5 or 10 as a team. I was surprised to see so many guys so lowly ranked.

Well, for context purposes, one of our kids that is probably a top 10 guy (maybe even top 5 kid) isn't even listed on there yet because he's a freshman and another one of those lower ranked guys can be a top 10 guy when he (the Hawaiian) decides to be (he's beaten multiple top 10 guys).

Top 10 is a reasonable goal for this season. Dresser has been building the program up from absolute rock bottom, and finally started to see some significant recruiting wins with this years freshman class (2nd ranked class nationally). If we can get 1-2 more top 50 kids to go with Naak in 2023, and then have another top 5 type class in 2024, that is when you will start to see Iowa State potentially get back into trophy contention

According to Flo, only 5 top 50s left in 23. Mullen is likely football and ISU not in mix. ISU not in McGowans top 5.

Seems very unlikely we pick up another top 50 in this class.

What are the chances Marcus can finally somehow beat Keck?

Wyatt Sheets, Keegan Moore, and Gfeller are all back again this year? Also Wittlake is up 2 weights to 184 and if he’s healthy, he’s going to be tough. Lots of really good depth at some of these weights now

I had thought Hagerty or Peterson would be top 50. I want at least 1 of those two.
