After reading this thread, it's clear most of yall will be in for a big disappointment this season. I swear some of yall think we have an Alabama type defense. With our LB's, we will have the worst run D in the Big12. OU will decide how many rushing yards they wanna put up against us because we won't be able to stop their run game.
I see everyone talking about how we have some experience on defense now. I don't know how that's a positive. I would rather have a freshman with talent and no experience than our guys with their "experience". The only "experience" our defense has, is missing tackles and giving up crazy amounts of yards.
Our best player on D is probably an undersized JUCO DT who has never played a down of D1 football. I think that says it all.
The fact that anyone is trying to play up our front 7 as having depth or returning quality experience is just mind blowing. Do people not remember how teams, nearly every single team, ran over us like we were D3? I just can't even fathom it. Sure some of these guys started but someone had to, the staff didn't have a above average player in the front 7.
We we better hope Tucker and Harris are absolute world beaters.
You're right, players never get bigger, stronger, faster, smarter or learn from their mistakes.I see everyone talking about how we have some experience on defense now. Not saying it's much, but Morrissey did sign with the Ravens.

Sure, his first year was his best record wise but I would probably rank that season 2nd or 3rd in the Rhoads era. It is disappointing that Rhoads has struggled to develop players and I wasn't saying that all of our players will be amazing this year because they are experienced. It's just an odd generalization to say that you'd rather have all freshmen on the field than guys with experience who have struggled previously.Personally, I haven't seen this happen much since Rhoads has been here. His best year was his first pretty much, and then it's been all downhill since basically. Not a whole lot of "improvement" going on there.
Exactly. Even if our players were improving (I'm not saying they are), they are starting so far behind everyone else to begin with, there's no catching up.Well the problem may be that everyone's players get bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, and learn from their mistakes and that everyone's else's players seem to start significantly ahead of ours... ISU isn't the only school practicing.
I thought it was the packers and then he decided against even going to camp or anything.
Nope he signed with Baltimore then decided he didn't want to play football anymore.
This is pretty bad news considering there is very little experience on the field in our starting listed linebackers.
