Glad to see Aka finally get his butt into the starting lineup! I've been hoping for that guy to come on for several years now.
I also see they list Mike Johnson as safety. I was expecting him to play corner.

Interested to see how Peters does at linebacker. Rooting for him because he seems like an awesome guy, I just hope he can prove himself as a serviceable linebacker and that he can be more than just a stud special teams guy.
Also, nothing against De'Monte Ruth, but simply having a 163 pound Free Safety listed on the depth chart pretty much sums up where we're at here. That's just too small to play that position. He would be undersized at corner.

Walk-on from Alburnett, he took a lot of snaps in the spring game since were so short on RBs.
I know cyclones.tv did an interview with him during the spring and he seemed like a good guy but there's a reason we got that JUCO back so late in the summer.
I'm guessing Michael Johnson will jump him once he gets a little more time in the system.
I didn't realize that Philbert had 3 years to play? That's a good thing.
Amazing that Lazard is 10 lbs more than Montgomery. Also, Madison just cannot put on weight evidentally? I think he's put on like 10 lbs in his 3 years here. 221 lbs is a smallish LB these days, and we're asking him to play DE.
That's good to hear! I think this will be on of the bigger D-lines we've had in awhile. Probably one of the better ones on paper at least.
I just went to cyclones.com and didn't see a new roster...just the old one without Leath. Where are you linking/finding this new roster?

This is the most depth we've seen in a very long time. Tucker and Aka backed up by Cousin and Leath...or even Garcia and Trent. That's 6 guys that can play, and we've even got depth at DE with White and Luna coming off the bench. At LB, we've got experience in the form of Knott and Mills off the bench and young talent in Northrup. At DB, all reports are that Wiltz is very good as is Peavy...that's 4 solid Cornerbacks. Safety has Cotton off the bench...so maybe you could say we're thin after that...but we've been worse off in the past.
