Popular snacks/restaurants/drinks you hate

Send em to me. I’ll use them.

I actually like Red Robin once in a while, and I like it even more if it doesn’t cost me anything. I haven’t been to Applebees/Chilis for a long time, but I’ll go there if I have a gift card.

Another thing in my part of the state, sometimes you want to get something to eat after going to/being in a show … Applebees might be one of the few places that still serves food that late.
Chain places are very valuable when I travel for work. I try to eat something local/new most of the time. But some nights I get in at 730pm and I don’t want to have to research/think. That’s when I will always get something from a chain because I know what I like there and I know it will be the same every time.

Now we have to endure Olive Garden slander?

I get it, it isn't home made. But it isn't anywhere near as bad as the other places listed.

Alcohol of nearly any types and all beers is probably my most controversial.

Definitely think some restaurants are overrated, but I usually don't hate on foods...

Avocados - taste okay but way too difficult to pick the proper ripeness. And difficult to slice.

Peaches - I don’t even like the smell of peaches

Lobster - expensive and little flavor

I buy avocados when they are green and just let them ripen at home. The ones in the store that are riper will be bruised from people squeezing them to check it they are ripe

Pretzels aren't very good and I've had people in my life actively try to convince me otherwise for 40 years.

I'll never get it.

The fun thing about lobster is that it was originally seen as food for the poor - “cockroaches of the sea“ or “poor man’s chicken,” so to speak, unfit for people of wealth and discernment to eat. Of course, most lobster back then was well dead before being prepared, so it was already starting to spoil.

As train travel started to develop train companies served lobster simply because it was plentiful and cheap - and when train passengers started asking for more, demand went up, prices went up. Add that to advances in keeping lobster alive and fresh until it was prepared, and it went from “poor people food” to the classy upscale menu item it is now.

Giant fluffy pretzels dipped in cheese or mustard - mmmm

Regular bagged snack pretzels - meh

Agree. Soft pretzels only for me. Sam’s club has frozen pretzels that are really good. It’s the same ones that you get from the food court, but they sell them by the case as well.

Diet soda >>>>> Regular Soda

Also tea. Not sure how people consume it. I could drink coffee all day, but tea is a no go.

This types of places are good if you have kids. Otherwise not so much.

20,000 sold in their first year so they must be pretty good. Gonna have to drop by on our next visit to Decorah and check it out.

If their "smash burgers" are actually that thick and not smashed paper thin and over cooked, then I "MIGHT" like them. But as I said, promo photos are not exactly reality 95% of the time. With that being said, I still hold to my original statement that any burger, regardless of how good it is, made with smash burgers, would be made better with non smashed hand formed, patties. Like I have said no matter how good a smash burger is, it would still be better with a non smashed patty.

Thanks again for the GIANT pic because you dont know how to reduce the size. My eyes arent as good as they used to be, so its nice you care.

They aren’t over cooked at all.
