This allows for both higher revenue for the risk (high level donors sitting in those seats), but also allows for them to control the alcohol distribution throughout the stadium.
As Cyclone fans, we love the fact that we have a great, family friendly atmosphere. You lose that pretty quickly if you open the flood gates with beer sales. The argument could be made that season ticket renewals could actually drop if you allow beer sales, which could negatively affect the bottom line.
Options are:
A: Tailgate hard enough that you don't need beer in the stadium.
B: Go out for beers at half time.
C: Do like the rest of us and bring a flask in.
D: All of the above.
Edit: back to my first sentence - I think it's safe to say that if ISU is the last hold out on beer sales, Pollard would cave, thus the "if I can help it" comment.
