That is why I changed his 29 point loss in the last three to a minus 29 point loss, since he was conveniently ignoring that the last 3 games weren't all blowout losses, but instead included one blowout win.
One of my biggest concerns is not that we're losing, that always sucks, but it's the margins of losses. And it's how often we are losing in Hilton.
In the last three seasons, the stats are pretty eye-opening to me. I like Prohm but he really needs to right this ship and quickly.
2017-18:
- Losses by 10-14 points = 2
- Losses by 15+ points = 9
- Hilton record = 9-7
2018-19:
- Losses by 10-14 points = 1
- Losses by 15+ points = 2
- Hilton record = 12-4
2019-20:
- Losses by 10-14 points: 2
- Losses by 15+ points: 7
- Hilton record so far: 10-5
In the last three seasons, Prohm has coached ISU to a Hilton record of 31-16. We have 23 losses of 10+ the past three years, including 18 being over 15 points.
Throw in losses like Florida A&M and the worst loss in the history of Hilton Coliseum and I'm not sure how anyone can be upset at any other fan that is a bit worried.
Can he right the ship? Sure. This season could be a blip. But I don't fault anyone for being uneasy either.
