First, my boat and lift floated about 2 miles downstream at Lake Delhi from my cabin. Thankfully the dam opened its gates in time and the water level went back down and the boat, still in the lift, got stuck on the bottom of the channel. We found it Monday night about 1/4 mile from the dam. Had the water level not gone down (or if we hadn't gotten it out before Tuesday morning's close of one of three dam gates) the boat would have drifted and I would have had a complete loss. Last heard 13+ boats got sucked under the dam.
Second, my brother got evacuated from his Waverly home but the latest I heard the water was contained to his basement... inches from his first floor. His family is being evacuated again tomorrow but it's not supposed to crest anywhere near what it did earlier in the week. So I assume he's seen the worst of it already.
Third, Deere also got hit in Waterloo. Although I work for Deere in Davenport, my same brother is a facilities engineer at the Waterloo plant and is heavily involved in the efforts to minimize the impact.
See pic which shows the lift the Tuesday morning after we got the boat back to shore.
