Point spread for Farmagedon

This has been beaten into the ground already but you really don’t think it’ll be tough to replace those two?

It shouldn’t be a viable concern by neutral parties when discussing the game? I can’t think of a new WR that has come in and lit it up in their first game. It usually takes some time.

Tough? Yes. Not impossible. I think it’s more getting Brahmer back and having an improved running game that gives me confidence rather than two individual players replacing Higgins and Noel.

The problem is, the reasons people are picking KState to win.

Either because we lost Noel and Higgins, and won’t be able to pass, or because the ‘24 team “couldn’t stop the run”, and they “don’t know if that will be fixed”.

Hello?

Talk about superficial analyses…

Oh. And while also ignoring KState’s holes, and all the places Portal additions might need time to mesh.

Did they forget how dominant Brahmer was in NCAA 25? He could completely replace Noel and Higgins entire productivity based on my last season.

And that has as much relevance as the reasons folks are giving for picking KSU. Truth is no one knows and we’re all finding out together on Saturday. Good news is we still have Heacock to make halftime adjustments based on what we all find out in the first half.

Well, you just spoiled my day. Looked it up, and X and Jayden’s first games were against Louisiana and Ohio.

You know, both when people were sick? One from COVID, the other reportedly food poisoning?

And now we hear the Buhr is sick?!! Aughhh!

Seriously, it’s a small sample size of “new guys” (Hutchinson, Higgins and Pettway), and the parallel doesn’t necessarily transfer.

All caught three or four passes in their first game.

And that’s the thing.

We don’t need them to “light it up”, just be reliable and make catches.

Also, an healthy Eli Green, Brett Eskildsen and Dom Overby—let alone Daniel Jackson—aren’t “new guys”.

Plus, there’s a veteran and talented team around them. Lots of players to take up “first game” slack.

Not only replacing the yards and catches.

But also replacing 17 TD’s

Someone is going to get them.

Hansen led the team last year. But he’s close to max his ceiling?

Who’s gonna score?

Sowell ?
Townsend?
Overby?
Brahmer?
Burkle?
Sama?
Rocco Legs?

Rocco hasn’t targeted the TEs much in the deep red zone. (yes I know injuries)

17 TDs. Where do they go?

After we lost Lazard people were concerned and Butler then became a guy. After we lost Butler people were concerned and Purdy went on to break single season records passing that year. After that year Hutch stepped in, then it was all over after he was gone and here come Higgins and Noel.

Point is, since 2017 we’ve had very good wide receivers and I don’t think that’s stopping under Campbell, same with TE’s and RBs. Does it being the first game of the year with new guys matter? Absolutely. But I do think the guys who’ve developed and came back + the history between X and Rocco + us having our TE’s healthy diminishes some of the concerns.

Ohio was Jayden’s 3rd game and while he did have a nice game against Iowa (garbage time? I can’t remember) he didn’t have more than 3 catches until middle of October and only went over 40 yards receiving twice until the middle October.

Look I am not saying we “can’t” replace them or even “have” to but it seems there is a large contingency feeling disrespected that k state is being picked to win with one of the reasons being we have to find out what have on the outside. It almost feels like people are underrating just how good those two were last year.

It’s not crazy to have some doubts when replacing two of the most reliable and talented WR in the nation at a school, that let’s be honest, doesn’t recruit at a high level.

We, as a fanbase, don’t have always come away feeling slighted if people don’t sing our praises at every turn or pick us to win a game.

I love the fact that we’re not being picked to win. And I also can’t wait for other people to be like “wait who the hell are these guys” when our new faces are running all over the field.

I was specifically posting about people griping aboit “why” most nationally are picking KSU to win this weekend. It’s not crazy to have some doubts on the outside going into the first game against a really good team.

I hope I am wrong and we hit the ground running and I’ll be the first to say I was wrong.

Oh gotcha yeah, you’re good. I’m less concerned and more interested. I know there are going to be guys stepping up and I’m curious and excited to see who!

Spread out equally?

17/7?

2.42 each more

This is my point as well.

Who?
The guys that you listed will all help contribute. If you’re asking me to predict how many TDs they’ll each score, idk man, how would I lol. I do know that having a healthy Ben Brahmer is a very large factor as he’s one of the best TE’s maybe in the country.

See spread is now KSU +3.5. Opinions?
Take the points.

We handled them last year with a depleted back 7. We were still able get pressure on the QB. Look for Burkle and Brahmer to feast on a weak KState secondary. And I don't think their LB's can handle that coverage assignment either FWIW. I think Rocco will outplay AJ and we win by around 7-10.

I think Sowell gets more than the others.
