I don't think we're talking the same language here. What I mean by trophy hunting is killing and animal, taking the head/paw/tail/wang/whatever to put on the wall, and leaving the rest behind.

Is that what you're talking about? If so, then yes, that's a waste.
I agree with you 100%, poaching is a real problem and gives hunting and hunters a bad name. Which unfortunately non-hunters stereotype all hunters into this category more times than not.

oh you are talking about poaching. not trophy hunting. ya that is a waste, and also illegal, and if i caught someone doing it, it would be their ***.

i honestly don't know anybody who does what you are talking about. and i know a LOT of hunters.

put a head on the wall maybe, but leave the rest? nobody does that.
In southern Iowa this is a big problem. I have even seen thrown out carcasses here in Story county as well. Mainly around the Story City area.

I myself have never hunted. But I did vote for hate it just because the red neck hillbillies that live below me like to load up the 4 wheelers at some ungodly early hours of the mornings to head out and hunt.
Then when they come home they wash them blaring country music. I fired back some Five Finger Death Punch the other day - I don't think I've made friends with them for some odd reason.

Anyone know how to change my pole with out start over? Just want to add a don't like or dislike vote. Thank you

I have differing feelings toward trophy hunting than I do toward hunting for meat.

hate trophy hunting... big game hunters like those that kill bears coming out of sleep and leave baby cubs, elephants, tigers, lions etc... are sick to me. but then again i dont live in an area where elephants destroy my crop...

deer and pheasant, dont like, but dont hate... and per those that do it, there is a need, and i cant disagree as i really dont know.

that's not trophy hunting though. that is being a *******. give it to HUSH like you said earlier. why would anyone do this?
Im not sure, probably because its easier to just cape it out in the field and leave the rest (no having to cape, field dress, or drag out). Its just the easy way out....

Your poll is missing an option in the middle: don't care. I am not a hunter, but I have nothing against hunting.

Predator hunting is something totally different. Hunting something that can hunt you is something that I have never done, and may never have the opportunity to do. I have never had the urge to bear hunt as they seem harmless here in the US, but wouldnt mind a big game animal in Africa, it would be something to experience weather I walk away with an animal or not.

Wasting the meat is illegal; at least where I've hunted. So you're talking about lawbreakers, not trophy hunters. They don't deserve to be called hunters.

Re: Please take te time!

Thank you for the offer I got it just alittle slow first time with a pole!
Thanks

No need to share any intimate details. There is a first time for masturbation for everyone.

As has been stated, the big bucks don't get that way by being dumb. I was always raised to be selective. The big groups that go through a woods with the 'brown is down' mentality sickens me. I have a friend in one of these groups that stumbled into a trophy by accident, rather than put in the work and try to understand how the big boys think and move. The biggest issue I have is with those that shoot small bucks and then justify it as being 'for the meat', if the meat is your only concern, go shoot a doe.
When done right, it's a rewarding experience whether you get a shot off or not. Sadly there are far too many idiots that give everyone a bad reputation. I can understand how it's not for everyone, but most good hunters understand and respect their prey more than the conscientious objectors that want to save Bambi.
