True that Cyvader, all the time and money you have put in is completely worth it when you have a MONSTER buck 25 yds away from you and not even have the slightest clue you are there. When your heartbeat is going abnormally fast, and you feel like your breathing really loud. All for when its you vs him and you have to make that crucial shot. That is why people consider them trophies, because it is WAYYYY more than simply pulling a trigger or releasing the bow.... and they just wont understand until it actually happens to them.

Well put. Takes me back to the 6X6 bull elk I called in a couple of years ago. He got away, but he taught me a couple of things. Won't make those mistakes again.

And for the uninitiated, bowhunter success rate is around 20% or less. But as EYEoftheSTORM said, it's much more than pulling the trigger or releasing the bow. Heck, that's when the work starts...
It's about the hunting, not the killing. At least for me.

Love to hunt. Putting in the work for a couple months to find that one nice deer is extremely rewarding. Even without shooting a gun or drawing a bow there is still something about being by yourself with nature that is truly special.

Big hunter myself. Have been since I was 13 or 14 on a regular basis. Big shotgun hunter for deer, and just recently have gotten into bow hunting. I have already shot my trophy of a lifetime fortunately, but I am always out there looking for another! Mainly support hunting so much because it helps control the population and actually makes it better by removing the old males that contaminate the gene pool.

Pictures dude.

I've hunted most of my life. I find it very rewarding to be able to provide for myself and my family, and most wild game is lean, healthy, and devoid of growth hormones, etc that are used when raising feeder animals. I process my own meat, so I know how it was taken care of.

I also find that time I spend in the woods is stress-free and relaxing. One of the few places I can go to and just live in the moment. I find watching various wildlife in a natural setting very entertaining, and educational.

I don't have a problem with those who prefer to get their meat from the grocery store; I certainly get some of mine there. But I do have a problem with someone who willingly consumes meat that was killed, butchered and packaged by others, but looks down on me for hunting my own.

I grew up on a farm and never had any desire to hunt, but always looked forward to the venison that some of the hunters would drop off if they got a deer on our land. I guess that puts me in the don't care to do it, don't mind that other people do it camp.

I am against people hunting from helicopters and against captive hunts, or whatever they are called where the animals are basically fenced in.

alright here you go.

Used to hunt growing up, too busy now and lost interest. Something I did with dad and friends, having grown up on a farm. I like hunting but dislike Minnesota and large city hunters. Had equipment shot at, many trespassers and even a feed bin peppered while I was on it checking feed levels. Figured out where these guys came from, never were locals.

Gorgeous buck. I plan on getting one that looks like that in the near future. Hopefully saturday morning.

I can't believe there are almost a quarter of the people that hate hunting. I could see some indifference, but hate, seems wrong. Starting to question the poll, some PETA member voting too much.

Hmmm seems fishy to me as well....

I guess we post on CF for us to vote numerous times for Cy to win the Capital One Mascot Challenge.

PETA must post poles like this on their forums to try and skew the statistics their way... I've got my eye on you PETA.
