Players Era

Hey farva...what do you call a group of whales?!

Are you telling me I have to pull for Auburn? ***********************************************
I dunno, I am going to read a book on quantum physics much easier to understand.

I think you need Michigan to absolutely have a loss given what they won by last night

There arent really pods then. Just one big group.
I have no idea. People posted several articles that said those were the pods. No idea though because the TV says not. Hell every article I look up says pods. Yet the TV people say not.

So based on the graphic they had up, we're currently 3rd with MI at 4th. So MI losing would be good for us, and it won't matter as much if Gonzaga (assumedly) wins?

Last night's garbage time dunk by St. John's at the buzzer looms large. Would have had the tie breaker (total points scored) on KU if we had found an extra two points of margin somewhere.
Actually I noticed today I think Otz wanted them to try and score as time expired..Milan was kind of confused about instructions..that 2 points would have been huge as well

If this pod information floating around online is BS (meaning it's ONLY overall rankings that matter and it's not this "cross-pod" match-up thing) we need Auburn to beat Michigan by less than 8 or Gonzaga to beat Maryland by less than 9 to get into the 3rd place game.

If Michigan beats Auburn, Auburn wins by 9+, or Gonzaga wins by 10+ we're not getting into that top 4 session.

Which would completely suck because that's a good amount of money left on the table.

College sport needs - really needs - coaches like TJ and CMC. Some say winning is the only thing, I say it's the only thing when human survival is on the line, like WWII.

I'd much rather see TJ have this attitude than a win at any cost value. Human dignity, virtue, still matters. ISU coaches possess those qualities. It makes us superior, imho, to the Blue Bloods who pursue conquest at any cost.

Really, the Iowa State University athletics culture is loftier than those humans who prize only mere wins and losses. (But, damn, our culture makes the wins so special!)
As bad as McDermott was at Iowa State, I believe he is an upright and nice guy, so I wish them well, except when playing us or one of my other favorite teams.
p.s. I played high school ball against Greg. He was decent, I was less than that. and he turned 61 today.
