Baylor needs a win desperately. Coach Briles will have the team ready and the Bears have enough athletes/weapons (Griffin, Wright, Finley, Sanders, Smith, Gettis, Akers) on the offensive side to score points. Iowa St has a good team and will be a tough opponent; like Baylor they play hard and fight 'til the end. I can see either team winning this game but i'll give the edge to Baylor at home.
Bears 27
Cyclones 24

Just going to point this out but Baylor has never been a good team, so when you get a decent quarterback in your eyes he is amazing.(I've seen him play too, he's not all that and a bag of chips) Yes he will probably become a great quarterback when is Junior/Senior but not now. Besides we just played Todd Reesing, one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, and shut him down for the first half. If we play like we did against Kansas in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th quaters there is going to be a major beatdown.
Joe Pawelek at LB should be All Big12 1st team, he is always around the ball making plays. Jordan Lake at safety is another solid player-possible All Big12, known as a very big hitter. On the DL the top guys are Jason Lamb and Leon Freeman, they have done the best so far this season getting pressure on the QBs, which overall has not been as good as we'd like to see. Other than those the LB unit as a whole is very solid (Pawelek, Jones, Patin, Johnson). CBs are the weakness so pass defense has been bad but run defense is pretty solid.Welcome to CF, BaldingBear. Rational posts like these from our fellow Big XII fans are always welcome here.
How is Baylor's defense this year? I know they have a stud at LB, but other than that....?
While we are living in the past we should mention that in 1957 Baylor beat previously unbeaten and #2 ranked Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl. Sic'em Bears!Yeah since we joined the Big 12 we've struggled but before that we were very competitive in the SWC.

We've never been decent? Really, that's interesting. We were very good in the 1980's and early 1990's. Ranked in the top 10 at least 3 times during that period that I can remember, maybe more. Beat LSU, Arizona, Colorado in Bowl games that I can remember. Beat number 3 ranked USC at USC. Gave Texas the worst beating they have ever had by any opponent in Austin 50-7. I believe Texas never beat Baylor in Waco in 10 tries under the Teaff regime. They may have tied us once at home.

Oh yeah? Well... we came within a pylon of coming within 1 point of #3 Florida State in 2002. But we didn't and we lost. But we still pretend like we should have won that game. So there!
Seems like the argument could easily be made that Baylor has been the football program affected most negatively by the formation of the B12 conference.Wow! Didn't know that. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?!?!?!?
