Why is Texas' women's basketball coach Vic Schaeffer never told to get off the floor while the ball is live. Shouldn't there be a warning then a technical for being out of the ciaching box? He is constantly wandering about a foot inside the out of bounds line even when on his side of the court! I do not see other coaches doing that.

The majority of coaches dont follow the rule, and officials let it go long ago.
Bugs me when an official walks around him while he's on the floor.

Other coaches may step out every once in a while but he seems to do it about every other trip down the floor!

It might be worth a turnover to nail him with an “errant” pass
If he is on the court and gets hit by a pass he would be interfering with play and it would warrant a technical foul for interfering with a live ball. I often thought that ISU players should have ran into Weber to try to get a cheap technical foul on him but nobody ever did it.

Take the freshman off the bench, run the sideline and run into them. Forces a call and makes an enemy forever. I dont know if it is worth it.

I watched the ISU men's game last night, and the K-State coach got a warning for being out of the box. I agree it's super rare.

Couldn't they just throw the ball to him? Same effect without physical contact.

You would want it to be a pass that has a chance of being completed or else you get some schmuck crew who decide that it was going out of bounds anyway so it really doesn't matter that it hit him before it went out - turnover.

Exactly, and you'd have to scheme it then practice it.
