I don't want anywhere near this matchup. Not that I think we lose that game. But crazier things have happened in the tourney, and the unbearableness of hawk fans if this were to happen would be enough to make me slit my wrists.

That said, I'm not picking Iowa to get past the first round.

SMU vs. ISU would be a pack-it-in defense game. SMU always packs it in, and they only have one guy that can shoot the 3. I think they're a good matchup for ISU since they don't have many shooters. Markus Kennedy is a beast, though. Better player than Gathers, IMO.

Agree. But Fred has made it known on many occasions of his respect for Larry Brown. In fact, Larry might be the coach he mentions most when talking about the litany of great coaches he has had. I'm sure Larry is still a giant in Fred's eyes.

Perhaps: Larry Brown had his problems with us as HC @ KU...never won @ Hilton. Then again, that was ions ago and the matchup won't be @ Hilton. Still, I like our chances!
