Parking for Saturday

I am going to play 9 holes of golf this morning and then park my car in my driveway in north Ames. If I get the wild urge to join in the craziness, CyRide will be my friend. They are great cheap transportation for senior citizens!

South 16th lot's didn't look bad bad this morning on way from getting $2.18 gal gas at Sam's thing morning. You can tell they haven't really dried from the rain last night yet. Haunted Forest has some standing water (what's new there). Just need some sun, heat and wind to dry them out.

This is the update I needed...Will top off tonight.

According to a caller on the Morning Rush this morning, apparently some of the home owners in the area west of the stadium are parking their own cars on the street and then offering the spots up for $$$ when they move back in their driveways. Very creative.

Hot damn, what a great idea.

They were saying it's illegal but I'm not sure it is? Either way, kind of a **** move but hey if people are willing to pay you for it, go for it.

Yep, I saw something like that on the Ames People Facebook group. They just need to be careful because the legal side of the street changes by day.

Was at Texas Motor Speedway for it's inaugural race. They severely underestimated the amount of kybos needed. Picture the Rocky Mountains above the kybo seat. Yes, probably the most disgusting sight you can see. Yes it was very warm in Texas at that time to!!:eek:

For some reason, I read this completely wrong. I thought you were saying you could see the Rocky Mountains from the kybo seat. I thought that would be nice, but confused because the kybos would have to have some sort of window in them. But then I realized you said Texas. Then I'm thinking, "Oh, you meant... Ohhhhhhh..."

It certainly is illegal, you can't charge for public parking on a street.

Now ... "I'd move my car for $20" might work. But "$20 for the parking spot" won't.
I thought they were parking their cars on the street to make less spaces available and then offering their driveway for $.

I don’t have a problem with that, take advantage of the situation and make some extra $. I would have paid somebody $20-30 to park in their driveway near their stadium.

I work next to New Trier HS in the North Shore of Chicago and the houses around that school make thousands of dollars every year charging kids to park in their driveway.

Mrs. Gaggi and I will be there early. A cooler full of beer (Budwiser and Rolling Rock), whiskey, Fireball and lots of the little airline-sized bottles of liquor. Steaks, burgers, brats, chips, salsa, etc. ]

Also bringing a sawed-off ball bat, brass knuckles and a tire iron. Just in case.

See you all in B4 bright and early!

Had close friend (hawkeye who is tailgating with us) tell me he had other Iowa fans that are friends telling him KMart is a great place to park. I told him with a resounding tone, 'No don't do that, you'll get towed.'

UGH... wish that wasn't started over there...
