they come back the 26th, plenty of time for prep, esc with no classes...
obviously Pollard should cancel the game, not sure what he’s waiting on.
UNI is in the air on the way to Hawaii for Diamond Head this week...
I don't think so...a lot of pro athletes and coaches are speaking out about the harder-than-necessary COVID protocols right now. People are vaccinated now is the argument they're making, and while people are still catching it, the mortality rate is very low for the vaccinated. People should just be operating at their own risk at this point. No need to prevent fans, and no need to keep players out for such extended lengths of time.
UCF had a game cancelled earlier and may have the ability to add a game.
While we lose the home game, what about @UCF on Dec 28th?
The basketball team gets a little warm up before Baylor and can stick around the next day to watch their football mates.
Clone bowl game fans can swarm another stadium.
TV might even pick it up due to ISU ranking and “future Big 12” matchup.

That's a fun idea. Not sure they like getting rid of a home game but I doubt many students and people will go to mid major game during Christmas break anyways.

I know your comment is in jest, but if it comes to having to find a replacement, why not? Or a school like Buena Vista, University of Dubuque, etc.
I know they're not Division I schools, but it really wouldn't be all that different from playing a 300 range Division I school like Chicago State.
It most certainly would be. D3 non scholarship? Closer to HS than a D1.
If Chicago State cancels, I say postpone the game into the future and give the kids an extra day home for Christmas.
Do not jeopardize the health of our kids, or schedule a team we have no time to prepare for - creates a no win situation.
As a matter of fact, if Chicago State says they will play Tuesday I would demand proof that our kids are at no risk. Worst case possible / play Chicago State and end up on Covid protocols.
TLDR version: cancel the Chicago State game, don’t wait for them to do anything. Pollard should just cancel. Maybe the delay is him trying to find a replacement, that would make sense.
Was just thinking the same. If you’re worried about COVID, I’d worry more about what these kids are exposed to on holiday break with family, friends, airports, etc. I think the practice facility is one of the safer places they could be.
