Opinions on that INT

The Oklahoma State players "sold" it better, and with the incompetent refs...it was no surprise they got it wrong.

When James Washington had that blatant hold then ran a circle around the ref with his hands behind his back and shaking his head I knew we weren’t getting anything anymore. Typical ****** job by the refs they felt like they had to make everything even no matter what actually happened. Prime example of why everyone loathes refs. They are cowards with two whiny excuses to always fall back on.

The fact that Murdock makes first contact and pins it on the defender matters. We usually see receivers pin it on the back of the defender, which is the same exact thing. Just because the ball is pinned on the defender's chest doesn't mean he has any more control than if it were pinned on his back. The defender then gets his right hand underneath, which looks like simultaneous possession. Murdock's hand is on the ball throughout, and the defender's left hand tries to grab the ball. He grabs Murdock's arm, gets his fingers on the ball, and then loses grip because Murdock has inside position. Murdock never loses control of the original pin. If anything, it was a good play by the defender to get his right hand underneath to not make it a clear TD for Murdock. Regardless, it was simultaneous possession, and should have been called for the offense.

Sorry, just had to get that out after watching it 100+ times.

This is the correct summation. /thread

That is an ISU touchdown.

Been a long time reader of CF, for years, not a forum poster guy. But ffs.
I'm just angry, really angry at being screwed by Big12 refs for years now at critical moments.
I watch this, and I don't know what else to think, except this is unacceptable in a power 5 conference, on national TV.
It is the game ending play, determining who plays in the conference championship game. They should have taken all the time in the world if needed to review and get this call right.
I hate that this is acceptable.

Go cyclones, love this team, the coach and all the seniors. Finish strong.

If the situations were reversed, our DB made that play and it was ruled a TD for the offense, you'd all be going insane right now. Even more than you already are.
Not a chance, but nice fallacy. That’s all you have to work with.

Besides it would have been called a TD, and potentially PI on ISU.

Here is a new view. If you slow this down frame by frame, it making me lean more and more towards this was an easy TD call. But itd doubtful the refs had a view like this at their disposal.

Oh my goodness. I'm going to admit I was absolutely wrong earlier. That's a TD and at worst should've been an incomplete pass.

Wow, leaving the game I thought it was an INT in real time but this thread has taken my anger at the refs to a new level. I think worse case that was an incomplete pass, even if Murdock didn't have possession, by the team the OSU defender had two hands on the ball he rolled over and had a foot out of bounds.

Just when I started to accept this loss, I see this thread damnit.

We're missing the focus. One very questionable play at the end of the game is not my issue. It's the defensive playcalling. That friggin' 3-3-5 defense with no added pressure with an occasional blitzing LB, we were eatin' alive in the second half with no adjustments from our defensive coordinator. It was painful to watch it go down, sigh.

Exactly the same here. Live and on the board looked like a pick to me but I was wrong. Hard call to make live and prob how most refs would've called it based on how it looked but you got to get it right.

On a side note this complete the process garbage has to go. Pass interference already gives way too much freedom for these worthless old POS officials to screw up games. It absolutely needs to go back to possession and 1-2 feet down. Take out as much subjectivity as possible.

Feel free to send another guy on the rush but we couldn't cover their receivers with the extra guy in coverage. It would've been uglier on the back end.

I'm sorry, did you not notice all the time that their QB had to find an open WR, due to the fact that only three slow linemen were trying to get past five O-linemen while two LB's danced around about 7 yds from the line of scrimmage, watching the action? It was pretty damn obvious from the 10th row, on the 49 yd line

After seeing this angle I 100% admit I was wrong in my previous posts, that's a catch and at worst simultaneous possession.
Such a travesty of a call.

If Murdock doesn’t catch the ball, while pinning it against the Ok St DB, it sails past the db and it’s 3rd down. The defender didn’t even gain any type of possession until they’re on the ground. For most of the TD catch the DB doesn’t even have a hand on it.

Good point. If Murdock doesn't even try to catch the ball it falls incomplete. But, since he trapped it against the defender with unfortunate positioning, it was deemed an INT.

Makes me sick. What a play by Murdock, but he gets punished for the effort by the incompetence of the refs. Combine that with the ******** PI’s and the refs cost us.

ISU won 48-47

That's exactly what we want. Someone like Kenny Hill tried to force the action and made mistakes. To Rudolph's credit, Gundy coached him up well this week and he was patient.

I'm sure Heacock would like to have a couple plays back but in the grand scheme Rudolph made some excellent throws which beat any scheme. Our back end was poor but a lot of that was how good Rudolph is. Our quarterbacks spray the ball all over hell. How many passes did Rudolph throw today that weren't on target? I don't think we had a single "man he tried throwing us a pick and we just dropped it."
