Only one Cyclone at the combine

Why mention the Iowa player at all then? What does Allen Reisner have to do with a cyclone player being invited to the combine at all?

Trust me, I would not have been in the conversation at all if Reisner was not in it, but I find it humorous that people get offended at hawkeye conversation when it was themselves that started it.

If I could . . you would be a permanent ban. You highjack every post on this board . . idiot.

No you don't. Then you would have less people to talk about the "hoks" with. And based on your posting history, where 80% of your posts are about Iowa, I can't see you really wanting to do that any time soon.

This is the crux of the problem with ISU football. We don't get the talent needed to compete in a top BCS conference. Iowa has 9 players at the combine.

We need to close the talent gap with the top schools in the B12, or the best we can expect CPR to do is win 5-7 games in our good years, and 3-5 in our down years.

They also put 13 in the hospital trying to make them into NFL ready players but who is counting...

My point with Reisner was simply an identifiable TE(one we played) who was invited with very similar stats to Franklin
Franklin
54 530 9.8 3 (Rec Yds Avg TD)
Reisner
42 460 11 2(....)

You may hang you hat on the blocking argument, but Iowa has a lot of NFL cred from Dallas Clark and the solid rookie play of Tony Moeaki, and I believe that is the only thing that seperates a Reisner from a Franklin. Also, where I don't think Reisner will be moving his stock at the combine, the size and athleticism of Franklin put on display is a great chance for him to get the attention of scouts. I still think he gets drafted. Heck, there may not be an NFL combine anyways.

I was really hoping to read a bit about David Sims in this thread.

Collin Franklin is 10x the athlete that Reisner is and should have had a chance to show this at the combine.

LMAO, and Coker is no (Iowa) ARob either, is he? To think Coker could possibly carry the load for 4 quarters against Missouri is silly isn't it? Remember all those flaws you saw with him against Ball St? Seriously dude, Franklin is a good TE and probably should have gotten an invite, but he isn't 10x the athlete Reisner is, your evaluation of talent just plain sucks.

Actually I should give you credit and acknowledge that Coker is no ARob, you did get that part right, because he will be better if he stays healthy.

How do you have over 1000 posts on a Cyclone message board? That's pretty pathetic...

So what round is David Sims going? I say if he runs 4.5 or below he could make a case for 3-4th round.

The 10x was for exagerration purposes. And I was impressed with Coker in the Mizzou game as well. Time will tell how he builds on it next year. I just don't see one play from Reisner this year where I thought "That is an NFL TE". He may get drafted, but like I said, it is based on the program he comes from, not what he showed on the field.

He will go no higher than 6th round if he even gets drafted at all. It would surprise me if he went any higher than the 7th.

This whole argument is stupid. Both Franklin and Reisner are solid tight ends, but neither one has a good shot of being drafted or making a team. I have never watched either one of them and thought "this is an NFL tight end." As of now, Reisner is a 7th- undrafted guy where as Franklin is just undrafted. Neither one has proven anything and the argument is dumb.
