On to Baylor Week Thread

I would assume Remsburg has been getting some live reps against Will so hopefully thats gotten him ready for they type of players he'll see Saturday.
I would bet him and Trieber will platoon at right tackle this week. Rena burg doesn’t have any game action and probably doesn’t have the conditioning for a full game right off the bat.

he mentions we've, "been blitzing more" than in years past.

is that true? I thought CW said we hardly blitzed that first game. I rewatched and saw maybe 3/4 times. not sure on Iowa/Ohio

would be neat to see the % that we bring blitzes.

LMAO not sure what game he watched because no, we primarily rushed 3 against both SEMO and Ohio. We did blitz some against Iowa but it didn't seem like a ton.

id say between SEMO/Ohio we blitzed 10/15 times.

Has JT become like Hilton where people expect every game to be some magical life changing experience and if not, it's just not the same?

Beating a bad MAC team like a decent P5 team should, shouldn't generate very much excitement.

I do hope people get out there this week though and get after Baylor.
Nope. I was simply commenting that this particular game was “off” in my opinion. The game vibe can vary at the Jack and last week was outside than the normal range. Again, expecting the Jack is back to “normal” this week.

I wonder if by blitzing CW meant sending 4 or more right away. I’ve noticed Reader delayed blitzing a lot after reading his responsibility and then joining the rush. I had been kind of confused by CW’s comment on that as well, because Reader joined the rush at least 4 times by my count in the SEMO game alone.
While technically a blitz when you regularly rush three and occasionally bring a fourth it isn't at all the same as the blitz where you rush four and then bring a fifth or even a sixth. It isn't the same around the pocket and definitely isn't the same in what the QB is looking at in the secondary.

Baylor and ISU are about as close as you can get to identical teams in CFB.

Was looking over the analytics of each team so far this season and they are damn near identical. Each team has played two bad teams at home and then traveled to a raucous environment to face a solid team. Now, only difference there is that ISU won and Baylor lost in OT.

The line reflects that ISU favored by 2.5 given the home field. On a neutral site, game would be a pick'em.

In addition to the on field similarities, coaching and recent program accession is also very close to the same. Two younger, awesome coaches who are building great programs. ALSO, Baylor and ISU have the exact same jersey designs (obviously color scheme is different but still). Lol.

Fun to examine all these things and how much in common the two squads have - going to be a great game Saturday.

Baylor is nervous about their defensive backfield. It will be nice to have Stanley back to hopefully at least draw some PI and D holding penalties but preferably, get a couple steps on them and have Dekkers deliver.

I like that guy. Seems like a good dude.
yeah, i really like Aranda.
Agreed. I like Aranda. At this point I will be ready for him to stay at Baylor forever. Like Scott Frost. Good for Baylor I guess. It's going to be up to him and what he wants.

I'm not going to pull a 'media says Campbell won't stay at ISU' kinda thing, w/ Aranda. I think Aranda and Campbell are both different cats and march to the beat of a different drummer.

I’d say Fickell/Campbell think more alike than Aranda/Campbell when it comes to leaving and stuff

I don't think Baylor will be able to score much if at all. If we play a clean special teams game we will win this by a couple touchdowns. Obviously a big if.

Baylor really struggles offensively right now, they really can't throw the ball. A lot like Iowa in sone ways. But not as bad offensively and not as good defensively.

We really should win this.
