Morning comes to sunrise and I'm driven to my bed.
I see that it is empty and there's devils in my head.
I embrace the many colored beast. I grow weary of the torment, can there be no peace?
And I find myself just wishing that my life would simply cease.
One more day, watch the sunrise from the highway
Lord one more night, sit alone again in the pale moonlight
And I don't know why, seems this ride takes so much longer every time
But my heart is due back south
A self-ordained professor's tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school "Equality," I spoke their word
As if a wedding vow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now.
The fire is dying
Now my lamp is growing dim
The shades of night are lifting The morning light steals across my window pane
Where webs of snow are drifting
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun
But it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way
But you're older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death
