When I was a sophomore in high school several of us joked that we should pick this as our class song.

Probably more realistic than a lot of graduation songs :)

    My class's theme song:

And now you know how old I am.

Here's mine. It includes the lyrics, "Remember when you lost your keys? You lost more than that in my back seat." Classy.

When I graduated (class of '93), we voted this as our graduation song.

Unfortunately, our principal listened to it and asked us to re-vote, and this is what we ended up with

Graduation can involve a grab-bag of emotions. Among them, “No, wait, I’m not ready yet!”

Although the lyrics skew toward younger age-range, this song encompasses that feeling to an extent.

(Tom Waits wrote and recorded it, but I’m using Ramones version, just ‘cuz.)

I LIKE VAN HALEN, NOT VAN HAGAR!

But seriously, this is a thing? People voted on a song for graduation? We didn't do that. Got the old standard, which was fine with me.

H.S. class song. (probably not the full version)

This song from the graduation year. It was kind of sad to see Silverchair do this with so much promise from earlier in the decade.

Yeah, we had a "committee" with about 5 or 6 students, and we picked like five songs for the class to vote on (there were only about 70 of us in my graduating class).
