I also remember a columnist writing a scathing review of a class that chose this "Wasted On he Way" as their graduation song.. In the classical case of not listening to the actual song - the idiot assumed the song was about actually getting wasted. Sigh...
When I graduated (class of '93), we voted this as our graduation song.
Unfortunately, our principal listened to it and asked us to re-vote, and this is what we ended up with
I LIKE VAN HALEN, NOT VAN HAGAR!
But seriously, this is a thing? People voted on a song for graduation? We didn't do that. Got the old standard, which was fine with me.
