There was a time that I might have agreed with you. But that was before I saw the literal video version...

I disliked these types of songs so much that I would avoid them as much as I could (change the station, turn down the volume, etc.). These types of songs are downers, not only for their content, but I thought them to be hokie and contrived; accordingly I won't post their You Tube links.

I love this song, too. It's also just really poignant.

I was reading an interview with Beck earlier this week from some Australian or NZ magazine, where he was talking about how he started hanging out with Elliott Smith when he released Mellow Gold, and he started writing some of Sea Change around then. Elliott Smith - that guy WON sad music.
