On That Note: My Favorite Part

There are 2 live versions of this song that I like, at the 2:52 mark the guitar part is just a neat buildup especially with the acoustic guitar which wasn't something featured in the original recording of the song. The other is a live version they did with an orchestra which added another level with having strings featured at times too.

Speaking of orchestras I love the part at 2:30 of this performance too

And one last one, I have always loved the catchy guitar riffs on this song of the lead acoustic guitar. Was a pretty good live version for the TV special of The Judds final concert where those guitar riffs really stood out

Less a “favorite segment” and more something that caught my ear years ago and I can’t unheard it (in a good way). Hi-hat midway through each line in the verse (and the coda). Listen for it in the left stereo channel.

“Take the last (CH!) train to Clarksville and I’ll meet you (CH!) at the station…”

Fits closely with the thread title/theme, and I can’t resist citing this sprawling mess from the most un-Doors-ish Doors album in the group’s catalog.

Approximately 3:08. (Feel free to consume the entire track! :D )

“This is the best part of the trip … this is the trip, the … best part … I really like.”

The opening few notes are so iconic you automatically know what musical piece it is. I remember as a teenager my Mom spending hours playing this song. She was a wonderful pianist.

The first 44 seconds of Baker Street:

The piano in the first 30 seconds of Going Down (and "Best Supporting Instrument" throughout e.g. 5:06 to 5:50):

If I have to pick short segments of Classical Gas, then I'll do 0:00-1:00 and 2:00-2:30:

Years ago, my youngest brother re-played the first 5 seconds of Fire by Arthur Brown over-and-over for what seemed like an hour at nearly max volume (he may have been imbibing):

Many segments of Sunset Grill are noteworthy for me; like 2:40-3:14:

When I had my big audio system, with the woofer cranked way up, the 3:10-3:55 segment of Bridge Over Troubled Water would just rattle my bones:

I've always liked the sound of the cue ball hitting the object ball (e.g. 00:16, 00:25, etc.):
