Also, I'm not sure how I forgot these when this thread first came out...probably because most of what they do is Christmas/Holiday music. I'm a big fan of Mannheim Steamroller. There are a vocals in a few of their tracks, but most are all instrumental (synthesizer).

Early jazz fusion with Sioux City native Tommy Bolin on guitar, Billy Cobham on drums, and Ian Hammer on synthesizer:

Quadrant 4, from Billy Cobham’s album Spectrum

It sounds like guitar at first but is actually Hammer on the synthesizer; you hear Bolin come in on the right after about a minute.

I'll save people the Googling effort. The Ogling is up to them. :)

I don't remember where, but I sorta recently learned that model for the cover was pregnant at the time. Somebody interviewed her or the offspring, I think. The kid was 50 or the album was 50 or something. I just don't remember the specific details, but still, "cool story bro" material.

I've seen Mannheim live twice, at C. Y. Stephens and the Civic Center. They are the best.

Listened to these guys all the time in college....pretty mellow, and Auger is a keyboardist par excellence.

This song has a few lyrics, but most of their stuff is instrumental, and very improvisational.
