Welcome back to “On That Note,” CF's weekly music exploration, hosted by @MeanDean and cyclones500.

Typically, we publish OTN each Wednesday, but I'm posting this segment on Tuesdee, due to work constraints and other lifestuffs. But enough about me!

This week, the focus is on songs whose lyrics refer to work by other artists — it could be a title, lyric or the artist itself. Also may include self-references to a creator’s previous songs/lyrics. We can include clips whenever possible/appropriate.

Let us begin. When I considered this topic, here’s the first example that came to mind.

Lyric: “… I hope Neil Young will remember, a Southern man don’t want him around anyhow ...”
Song: “Sweet Home Alabama,” Lynyrd Skynyrd (song sample unnecessary, I assume)

Hey, Jackie DeShannon last week and "Jackie Wilson Said" (Van Morrison) this week. Since the song is basically a tribute to Mr. Wilson I also feel a quote is unnecessary.

This could have also been a good fit in a previous OTN about songs that are "UP" and make you smile or feel good.
