I don't think theres much truth to this but in Eiffel 65's 'Blue' I have heard the lyrics are supposedly "I'm blue, if I were green I I would die..." and so on.

    Pretty sure it's just jibberish.

Also, this scene from Angel's in the Outfield seems relevant.

A couple Beatles ones I was mishearing. For like 50 years...

    Polythene Pam
"She's the kind of a girl who makes good use of the pill" is what I heard.

It's actually "She's the kind of a girl who makes the News of the World." The News of the World is/was an English Tabloid that would feature a scantily clad or bikini girl daily.

    Get Back
I always thought Paul sang "Sweet Loretta Modern thought she was a woman.."

    It's actually "Sweet Loretta Martin..."

    Tutti Frutti
I just learned I had this one wrong too. I always thought it was, "Tutti Frutti all rooty."
It's actually "Tutti Frutti oh Rudy."

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
I thought it was, "I swear by the blood below my feet, you can't raise the Cain(as in the Biblical - Cain and Able) back up when it's in the peat (like the peat bog/peat moss)."

Actually: "I swear by the mud below my feet, you can't raise a Kane back up when he's in defeat."

I think I already wrote about the Monkees theme.

I thought it was, "We went to Betsy singing, to put everybody down."
It's obviously "We're too busy singing to put anybody down."

First couple of listens (before I grasped the extent of the farm lyrics)

    Misheard: “Poking your head”
    Actual: “Poking your hay”

Brenton Wood - Gimme Little Sign.

I thought he was saying, "Just give me some Callasandra." which I imagined was some exotic girl's name.

Again, obviously, it was related to the song title, "Just gimme some kind of sign girl."

What can I say? Those little 1" diameter transistor radio speakers didn't have the best sound - combined with that AM Signal.

Elton John, kind of well known for mumbling the lyrics. Rocket Man..

I heard: "Rocket man, burning up the fuel of everyone."

It's actually:"Rocket man, burning out his fuse up here alone."

It was the 70's energy crisis. Everybody was fixating on energy consumption!

Your Billy Joel reminded me of this one.

I for a short while thought it was, "An Irishman will be the one"

It's "I might as well be the one."
