OMG our young guards!

Fran came and watched Hogue work out Sept 20th, Hogue said he wasn't interested in being a Hok and was going to be a Cyclone, Jok committed to Iowa 3 days later after Fran told him he was now their guy. Nobody wanted Jok besides Drake and Iowa fell back on him, the reason ISU didn't offer him had nothing to do with recruiting violations

Except that the violations aftermath started in April 2011, so you would have no idea if ISU would have offered him later or not because ISU had to stop actively recruiting him at that time.

I get what you're saying and I don't have a link to prove to you that recruiting violations weren't the reason but common sense would tell you that when NOBODY else besides Drake and Iowa offered him that he wasn't going to be a target for ISU.

...and Joks knee then looked good enough through his senior season that it looks like Iowa's gamble paid off.

Now, can we go back to talking about ISU basketball?

Doc Sader...defensive guru must be turning over in his grave..."Where's the defense?!" Doc will help come this fall. Afterall, look how well his defensive philosophies worked keeping his own Nebraska team's points down while he was there. :-D

Actually no that wasn't the case at all. He only had offers from Drake and Iowa and we never offered because he doesn't have knees. Actually Iowa didn't really pursue him until after Hogue told Fran he wasn't going to Iowa for sure in September. They were always in contact with him but Hogue was their main target.

This. We even offered Jeremy Morgan from Iowa City after he took a visit to Ames IIRC. It's pretty clear Fred passed on Jok.

So glad this turned into a Hok vs Cyclone thread...

At least there are new CCL games tonight to look forward to.

I went Sunday and I'm pumped to go back again since I had to leave early last time. It's at a new location tonight isn't it?

How many pts are our guys dropping. I'm gonna pick Naz being the leading scorer with 52.

Excited to see what Bluford can do tonight, same with Hogue.

We all know SDW is a great athlete/shooter and we know what to expect from Bubu, Niang, etc.

Also excited to see Morris again/Naz Long. Fred really likes Naz and I really like Naz's length, a lot like DG but Naz is much more bulky and I believe he probably has a fairly better jump shot (to be fair DG didn't shoot a whole ton till Hoiberg got here). Regardless, very excited.

This season can't come soon enough!!!
