Retheford has withdrawn with a head injury, so Snyder going for bronze is the final match on men’s side.

Well that wraps up the wrestling for the Olympics.

Solid performance by the women with 2 gold (Elor, Hildebrandt), 1 silver (Blades) and 1 bronze (Maroulis).

Greco is Greco. Send 4 guys and don’t win a single match.

Really disappointing from the men’s side. Argue with me if you want, only three medals and zero golds (first time since 1968) is a disastrous result for a year with no Russia at the games.

Maybe they get more publicity than I realize but I don’t think people understand how good our women are. Those chicks are tough as sh*t. That group deserves some major credit for what they do.

Honestly don’t watch Olympic wrestling. Freestyle is not interesting to me.

Was cooking yesterday so didn’t change it after something I was watching finished. The Dake Bronze match came on and was wondering if someone could explain the challenge thing. Didn’t make a difference but how are you not clear on what you are trying to review.

They were looking at the right sequence, but Dake had himself convinced they were looking at something else.

Yea, I’d love to hear Dake’s explanation on that. What they showed in the screen was the correct thing, but Dake was having a fit!

I think Dake wanted the clock to go back to that time they were challenging and have the td negated . They were reviewing the push out and he either didn’t want the challenge or wanted a time adjustment .

He was clearly yelling that (he thought) they were reviewing the wrong thing. He thought they were looking at a sequence from the first period, when it was clear the video showed around 2:00 left in the match -- the push-out.

God damn Japan had an insane Olympics, wonder what the medal count would be if Russia was able to bring their team

I caught the Kyle Snyder bronze match and this was 100% the case. The Iranian scored a take down on a counter to Snyder's shot. And he did absolutely nothing else... except maintain position in the middle.

Freestyle > Folkstyle
I have no skin in the game. But seeing that the rest of the world wrestles primarily freestyle I do think its silly to wrestle a different style (abet maybe more entertaining style).

With fewer athletic programs offering wrestling I feel like switching to the more popular style would garner more international attention. I would assume some Russian, Japanese, or Iranian would love to come train here in the US if we were to focus on freestyle.

Would like to hear thoughts. I'm a new fan of this sport so I maybe don't know the ins and outs of this but I did love watching the Olympic wrestling.

Anyone else feel like you should still get a pushout point, even if your opponent is "grounded"? I guess I just don't understand why it matters and seems silly to me.

None of it matter ultimately. It’s not going to change.
