Oklahoma, Kansas, and KState

Im with previous poster on this thread.....I don't think KSU is a lock to be in the final, I would be shocked if it wasn't OSU.

I think it comes down to KU and ISU in the Semi-Final round game. I believe that is the winner of the Tourney.

Assuming we throw aside past performance evaluations and ISU shows up for the Big12 Tournament....

Those are some tough teams on the road, I do not think we can play well three days in a row. So the team should just concentrate on beating Oklahoma. After that I do not care if it goes either way.

I'm going to be the pessimist here. When was the last time ISU performed to expectations in the Big12 tournament let alone exceeded them? I don't remember them playing well since before McDermott graced us with his presence. This will all depend on how we shoot the three. If we get comfortable with that arena early then we might make some noise, otherwise I am expecting another disappointing performance.

You don't even know my team.

The way I understand end of game in Lawrence is Hoiberg had no intentions of fouling, he let McLemore tie it. You have to foul there, easy decision. Hope he learned from it.

Then in Ames, how does Hoiberg or some coach not go ballistic when Withey picks up his fifth? Everyone noticed it, except the coaching staff.

1) Lets not start the foul or not foul up three late debate again. If it was an "easy" decision every coach would do
it.
2) Hoiberg rarely goes ballistic. Late in the game with a minimal lead would be a poor time to pick up a technical unless that is the late game strategy you would like to see.

I think I am one of the few that would rather play OSU than OU in the first round. My reasoning is that OSU has defended us about as poorly as we have defended them. When ISU is in games with "brother in-law" defense as one commentator put it they have a better shot. The matchup with Osby has me concerned mainly because of foul issues and the possibility of no Booker.

1. I would predict every coach in the country will be doing it by this time next year. All the evidence points to foul, right? I missed your debate on here for this specific game. (I'm not a really a neutral observer, I don't like kU) Its like 20 % chance to lose by letting them try the three, and maybe once in two years letting them shoot free throws, make the first, miss the second, get thet tip out, hit another shot. Maybe Hoiberg hasn't figured it out, watch how Self would handle it.

2. Ballistic is a little strong, how about. Hey ref, uhm excuse me, but the foul was on Withey. You know my point, nobody on the coaching staff noticed and its a mistake. I know you love your team, but everyone outside of Clone nation knows Hoiberg has struggled in late game coaching. Doesn't mean he's not a good coach, and Iowa State is lucky to have him, and he would only leave for the NBA.

I'm just hoping since so many close/odd things cost is games, the bball gods will repay us with other teams not showing up against us, maybe an upset Ina another part of the bracket, a bank shot in our favor, etc. as someone saibini another post, if we win our first NCAA game, I think out chances in round two are good as not a lot of time for the other team to scout us.

1. Here are the numbers for fouling up three from every game since 2009-2010

No, I don't necessarily believe you shouldn't foul but it is NOT an absolute. They tried fouling up three at Texas and still lost.

2) ISU has blown some games this year. They are some games ISU probably isn't in without Hoiberg's offensive strategies. At some point its up to the players to execute at the end of the game. To think that Hoiberg and the coaching staff didn't notice that call is laughable.

Here are the numbers again. Hard to read above.
