Since everyone else on the planet starts there's at about 6:30pm I think that would be the general idea.
So UK should probably change the title from "Late Night at the phog" to "mid evening at the phog?"

UK can do whatever they want with Big Blue Madness but KU will leave Late Night as is. And 6:30pm is probably still late night for the Blue Hairs as it's probably 2 hours past their dinner time...So UK should probably change the title from "Late Night at the phog" to "mid evening at the phog?"

University of Kansas = KU, University of Missouri = MU, University of Colorado = CU, University of Nebraska = NU, University of Oklahoma = OU, University of Oregon = OU, University of Denver = DU, University of Tulsa = TU. Not a difficult concept to grasp that schools use different abbreviations.Sorry University of Kansas = UK. I can't lower my IQ level to call something KU when its clearly not.

Better than being at Fordham or Furman University walking around with a big 'FU' shirt on.We're the ones stuck with the handful of ISU's (Indiana St., Illinois St., etc.).

I agree that the intelligence of people that replace an "S" with 2 "Zs" should be questioned. Thank you for pointing that out, Cyballzz. Oh, wait...Idiots, They freaking spell Missouri with 2 "Z's", Stoners, At Nebraska the N stands for Knowledge..., idiots, University of Oregon is UO sooooo not idiots, University of Denver? Really? C'mon man... Tulsa? Wow... really scraping the bottom of the barrel there. Clearly actually knowing what an abbreviation is proves to be way to difficult for everyone you named with the exception of Oregon who you should probably apologize to for including them on that list of mental giants.

Shutup. You don't even have the sense to capitalize your name.
Does it say "Cydkar" on your drivers license? That's dedication!Shutup. You don't even have the sense to capitalize your name.
Here's what I would plan:
1. Set the game on a Saturday or Sunday evening a few weeks before the start of the official season. You'd likely get more attendance during the weekend vs. the work week. Schedule so that it doesn't conflict with ISU football. Have the game around 6-7pm instead of midnight so that kids and families can attend.
2. I would call the event "Cardinal vs. Gold" and have a 40 minute scrimmage game between two teams. Those teams could be picked in advance with a mix of players or the Returners vs. Newcomers format that has been recently discussed. As witnessed in the CCL games this summer, 40 minute games don't take very long without all the fouls, time-outs, longer halftimes, etc. Maybe let an assistant coach lead each team with Fred kind of giving advice to both.
3. Extend out the event with a 3-point shooting contest, dunk contest or HORSE shoot-out. Include fans in some contests to win prizes.
4. No celebrity emcees, John Walters will do just fine. The only special guests at the events should be formers players that stop by like Babb or Royce. Hell, maybe even let them play.
5. Keep the event free and have seating based on first-come/first served. Or have some type of online ticket system to keep things organized. The important thing is to allow students and fans that normally don't get to attend games or sit down in the lower area to have a chance to do so. The AD can still make money off of concessions sold during the event.
6. Use this event to unveil the new banners hanging from the rafters with updated accomplishments from the previous season.
It could be a great way to get people even more excited for the upcoming season and be a fun and great way to celebrate all things Cyclone basketball. I'd go in a heartbeat.

You think? Seems like that would sell pretty good on campus.
Once went to a Wartburg Basketball game when Upper Iowa visited and the student section spent most of the evening chanting, "Beat those Cocks"!
